    Exposure to UVA from black lights is well below the recognised safe limits and is not hazardous to people using them, working in their vicinity or who have them in their home. Exposure from black lights would be much lower than your exposure to UVA outdoors.

    Ozone is only produced if you go below 240nm. A typical 254nm UV-C germicidal lamp does not produce ozone. But indeed, only use UV-C if you REALLY know what you're doing. It can cause a lot of damage.

    I actually wear ski goggles when playing with my 400W mercury vapor blacklight and it appears to be working fine, which is kinda expected since ski goggles are designed to block stronger-at-high-altitude UVA and UVB rays that are also reflected by the snow when skiing.
    When using a germicidal UVC tube I also hold a small glass panel in front of my face in addition to having the ski goggles on and it also seems to work although I already got eyestrain afterwards however no welder's flash as can happen in case of unfiltered exposure to UVC.
    But I recently got hold of a 400W high pressure sodium lamp and using it to light up a room always caused me eyestrain despite not having looked directly at the bulb and having had either the ski goggles or a pair of dark sunglasses on.
    Tested the UV output with glowing things as well as a UV detection card and it seems to be way less than the mercury vapor blacklight, therefore I wonder if it's really the UV that's responsible for the eyestrain or not when using the HPS bulb.

      It's not just your eyes man. UV-C light burns your skin and disrupts any genetic material. When you're exposing yourself to UV-C you're litteraly slowly frying yourself.

    0:56 Yeah i know bro, but japanese sankyo denki blb lamp they produce 352nm, is that a imitation of blb lamp?

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Před 11 měsíci +2

      @marcelsupit4978 It's not an imitation, just a shorter wavelength. I've never worked with that wavelength, but it should work on certain rocks/minerals that use a shorter wavelength.

    Question - importance of filters like Wood's glass? How would a 395nm light look with a filter?

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Před 11 měsíci +1

      It would cut out some of the purple visible light. What are you trying to do or want to do?

      @@UVBlackLights Just curious how big of a difference it makes

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Před 11 měsíci +2

      I would just get a 365nm and use woods glass if you want to cut out as much visible light as possible, but you do lose some UV output with the glass.

    HI I am looking to light up a chess set with black light around the inside edge of the board, under epoxy resin. After watching your video I am now confused what type to buy. Any help advice would be great.

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Před 3 měsíci

      Sounds like you need blacklight strips? That’s the smallest you’ll find , assuming this is a regular chess set.

    what is safe for kids birthday neon party in house ?
    or we should totally avoid this theme ??
    kids age would be 3-12 years & few adults too

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Před 6 měsíci

      To be completely honest, I wouldn’t have any blacklights on around young kids, they don’t know not to look at them.

      @@UVBlackLights so u mean that Glow in Dark party must be omitted for kids party ?

    • @UVBlackLights
      @UVBlackLights  Před 6 měsíci

      I mean if they’re fairly far away and out of reach, I would say atleast 10’ and tell the kids not to look directly into them. That’s just my opinion though. Better to be safe than sorry, if ya know what I mean.

      I found this tube light with "F40T8/BLUE 40W" printed on it.
      Is this real black light BLB ?
      Is this safe for kids eyes & skin ?
      When I turned it ON for 5 min.
      Then went to another room with white normal tube light, but everything in room including white tube light, to me was looking like a yellowish light for some min. THEN slowly turning to normal white ambiance. So does it mean this blue tube light is harmful ?

    • @dhimandodhia2201
      @dhimandodhia2201 Před 6 měsíci

      This F40T8/BLUE 40W gives blue ambiance & not black ambiance in the room. & it's glass tube glows to sky blue tone.
      Is this safe for eyes n skin ?
      As nothing is mentioned on tube light except for "F40T8/BLUE 40W", no branding, no specifications mentioned on it.

    Black light also harm the vision! So u need to use it not for much time. I have it in my house from 3 years. The old luminiscent tubes,they are easy for using and doesnt need resistor. But of course more hours can leads to crack or.explode. My bf was forgot it more then 8 hours...

I'm waiting for the next most powerfulest 365 to come out right now my most powerful is the weltool M2-BF with the glass woodd's filter ❤
