Great video! Watching Bedard's goals, what sticks out the most to me is that he can release the puck from anywhere in that motion you're showing, and he gets insane power behind it every time. Doesn't matter if he releases the puck from basically a toe drag or pulls it in all the way, he can just snipe from anywhere. But even if we'll never be able to do that, adding a layer of deception to your shot will help at any level. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work!

Love that insight. 100% he doesn't always pull it right in, sometimes he lets it go halfway through and it's very deceptive.

I’m a complete beginner. I love your videos. I’m trying to figure out the slap shot. A full on ice slap shot tutorial would be so helpful. Great content, keep it up 🏒

    Jeremy,
I've followed your stuff for years... this shooting technique is the first one that fits how i naturally move on the ice! Thank you, thank you.

This video helps. It didnt work instantly, but I had 3 shots today. I also notice that he pulls in and goes forward, so the pull in gets past them, then the bowed wrist and the rotation helps with the power.

Thanks for breaking it down Coach!
been trying on my own, since the video with Connor in his Gucci's, without much material improvement.
Hopefully this is exactly what I needed to take the next development step.

Do you start flexing the stick as you pull it in or after you pull the puck in?

Your right but it’s a little off he rotates his hips and the follow through needs to be more aggressive but your main point is right

Yes I left that one out to focus on the most basic points. I find the hip rotation is best to teach after the basics are covered

Nobody seems to mention his stick that goes up to his eyebrows WITH skates on and how that might change the entire mechanics.
I take the Mathews approach and use a collar bone height stick. Multiple ways to do it.

man u need to stop shooting from so close like top of the circles is a good place then u can see the speed of the puck and I found that Bedard also drops his hips and rotates his shoulders along with his shot

Jeremy…my guy. You got the stick bend wrong on this one. Bedard said it himself, and you can see it in his shots, he doesn’t lean on his stick at all. There’s no stick to the ice bend. He pulls the stick in, bottom hand tight and firm (fulcrum) and as he pulls down the lever (top hand) this whips the his flexy 71/72ish flex stick. Hes literally doing snap shots, just mechanically better and more powerful than 99.9% of today’s players.
    Just sayin ❤
