One of the prettiest, soulful and intimate sax solos I’ve ever heard. Wilton was awesome. Always have loved the Crusaders. RIP Wilton, Wayne, Joe and Pops.
I am crying as I am listening. It reminded me of my late father. He is the one who taught me about jazz. This is beautiful music.
A heck of a road tune, sophisticated jazzed-up, soul-type, blues jazz.
76 yrs. Young & Yessss!
Music doesn't get any better than this!
Possibly one of the finest pieces of music ever recorded and performed live. This hits me in my soul!!
Agreed
AMEN😊😊😊@@theswinginmonitosbigband6072
RIP, Joe Sample exceptional musician !
one of the all time great jazz classics
There is jazz and than there are the crusader's this is them at their best
I go back to 1963 listening to the crusaders I'm glad my father and great cousins were jazz lovers. I'm a father and I had my children loving the crusaders and my six year old grand daughter loving there music. When I am to be buried I want way back home to send me off in memory of my ancestors and Elders.
You were blessed have family to help you prepare for your journey threw life(.Thank You for Caring an Sharing)You are a Life Time Crusader.😊😊😊
Regardless where home is and how far away it might be this song will always take you there.
Probably so. That's what happens when you inject yourself with disinfectant. lol
Can’t beat them. They are the best
This song .blows my mind
when I was a boy the neighbors called the police on the other neighbor because the music was too loud but the funny thing about it this was the song the police came and cut off and I love that song for that reason because I remember it.😎
still crazy about my Crusaders
I remember the very first time I heard this, early 70's one evening at Discount Record's in Harvard Square and it blew me away, man those were good times.
Man man man...
Takes me back, seven years old,
sunday drives with my pops
Yesssss!!!
Started listening to The Crusaders in 1976 and still love their music. Wilton Felder, Mr Smooth.
Makes me think of my Big Brother Keith Phillip Hardy, 'Way Back Home', Little Rock Arkansas. I dedicate this one to the Greatest Big Brother in the world. Love you Keith from David Jr
I agree with Diane...this song blows your mind. It takes you wherever it wants you to go.
This sound takes you way back home to good times and great memories.

Beautiful song blowing my mind sitting here with my headphones 🎧 on chilling it's 1:48 am waiting for wife to get off work perfect alone time tune 9-23+2020
Takes me back. I played trombone and this horn "get together" is smooth as silk. I grew up with this and it's everlasting. Brings me to places such as clubs or just plain hanging out with friends in different areas of the city and record shops that were in existence at that time. I feel blessed to have been there, heard that which keeps the soul alive.
Definitely phenomenal!
This song reminds me of late 90s Christmas morning at my Grandma's house with the entire family, with ma mom & aunts cooking in the kitchen...
Rest in peace Wayne Henderson.
Soul music at it's gentlest and finest.
Love it
I first listened to them in 1971. I never saw them live. I regret that.
I've often said the same thing. Love the Crusaders ... My father would play the 1st & 2nd Crusade Often and I loved it as a child. I owned three copies of the Red Vinyl LP "The best of the Crusaders" which is unavailable on CD unfortunately.
.......what a unique "lazy swing" this combo created--signature.
I thank my father for introducing me to this kind of music 😢
My memories of family gathering, Love, foods, reminiscent smells and soulful laughter...

There are many recordings of them doing this piece of music but I think that this really showcases Wilton.
Best version of this song I've heard
I am so digging this live version. From 1:27 to 1:39 is my feel good moment. That melody and those harmonizing horns just light me up mon!

Joe Sample was the golden Buddha of soul piano. Wilton Felder no slouch either. Makes me tearful they are both gone now.
So sad we lost Mr. Felder and Mr. Sample.

This was apparently the chosen national anthem for the SLA (Symbionese Liberation Army), the revolutionary group that kidnapped Patty Hearst.
This reminds me of the late Barry K.Jackson KKFI D.J.THEFusionFunkMeister 2024 missing U my Dearest Friend.

Have you heard Jr. Walker's 1971 version of this song?
Yes I have and I like it too.

Seems the 48 people that disliked this are really no class at all and are soulless or just plain ignorant to good music.
Maybe they couldn't find their way back home🤨
What can i add is there any better band and music. I love it for more than 45 jears
Hey. Oh yea.
kind of jazz is this? Is it a swing?😀😀😁
Junior Masilela I call it smooth jazz or it could be called jazz fusion. Nice and mellow... Do a google search on The Crusaders and Joe Sample to find more like it.
R.I.P. Joe.
