    What seduced me on those is the fact that I could have my old Modano blade pattern (PM9 now with Bauer) which is not easy to find in almost any other sticks of any brand unless you go in the very high end stuff.

  • @hawk12983
    @hawk12983 Před rokem +9

    These sticks are decent, but they keep raising prices on them. The regular blackout used to be 90 USD and the extra light was 110. They were more attractive options at that price point. I think the HSM site has a lot of good deals on brand name, sometimes older model and NHL pro stock sticks. If you have kids that play the free shipping on all junior sticks is a nice perk.

  • @goatsonapost

    Went to HSM today and gave the blackouts a look. I passed. Was able to grab some lx pros for a bit more than these would have cost me. Thanks for your help with the purchase!

    Love the honest review. I was gonna pick one of these up to try a new curve but what you said was exactly what I thought it was going to be.

      Just go to the PSHS to try new curves. They are actually solid and still pretty cheap

    I have a couple of the ultralight, interested to hear your opinion. For $129, it worked for me. I have been using the TMP1 and I do much prefer the sherwood.

    I have their goalie stick. I cant really tell a difference between it and a 2s pro, the ultrasonic feels a bit better but not worth full price , if comparing buying each one new. decent anyways. One thing on the goalie stick, the shaft was way longer then a normal bauer, i had cut like 3 inches off it. its heavier but not much so again for price i'd use it over a 2nd price point big brand stick.

    Dude, great review! I tried this probllackout sticks and I didn't know what was the difference I was feeling! Have you tried the hockeytronx stryker stick? You should and let your followers know about it, it's lighter and cheaper, give it a try!

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Před rokem

      I haven't tried the Hockey Tron X stuff. In the past they have had some pretty terrible quality products, and shipping it to Canada + exchange rate doesn't make them great value anymore.

    so the pro blackout custom extra lite is like the pro stick in your other review? I just want to look into these sticks because they make them taller than retail sticks. I'm 6'5 off skates so it's tough to find sticks that can compensate that.

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, the ones with "Custom" and show the "HSM x PRO" logo behind the curves are the same company as my other review.
      I would check out PSHS Yellow Line, they come MASSIVE. like REALLY REALLY tall haha. Plus those ones don't break the bank.

    Seems like the blackout and blackout custom are made differently. The custom tend to have much better reviews. The PSHS and blackout custom seem like the same stick made in the same factory. Same whacky curves and even the "Pro" graphic is printed on both. Worth noting since hockey stick man doesn't advertise them like that

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Před rokem

      That is why I called out the "Custom" ones and the ones with PRO on the images are the sticks from PSHS and the ones people should get!

    The blackout isn’t a bad stick it’s just the blade is awful. My shots are weak compared to a pro stock proto I got

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Před 28 dny

      So the stick isn't awful, but the shot sucks because the the blade is awful... Which means the stick is awful because the blade is part of the stick 😉

    I feel like at $129.99 you can get a last season's top end stick Trigger 5 Pro, Trigger 4 Pro, FT4 Pro etc and will be better than this stick

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Před rokem +2

      Remember this is $130 CAD, so you can't REALLY get top end from year before for that price. But for $30 more you can just buy PSHS and get a good product.

    Did you actually weight it to make sure it was 420g? I just got a extra leight which should be 400g and it weighed in at 435 grams.

      Or, you know, spend the little extra and get an actual pro stock stick from them or a PSHS that I showed they also sell. Then you actually get a good stick and aren't spending top dollar.

      @@HockeyReviews they only sell the PRO ones in non-retail curves btw. So if you're looking for a specific curve thats not an option. I have personally stayed away from the blackouts and only bought real prostocks from HSM - its unfortunate he doesn't offer the PRO ones in normal curves

    • @Mike_Jones68
      @Mike_Jones68 Před 11 měsíci

      @@HockeyReviewsthe pro stock sticks HSM offers are at a good price. I'd agree, look past the blackouts and go direct to those. In fact, I'm about to buy a pro stock ribcor 3d with max blade to try for like $150 us. No way can beat that in anything retail right now cuz all the shops have all the new retail.

      @bamboograssburned Před 5 měsíci

      @@HockeyReviews it was a little unclear which stick you're reviewing tbh. They seem to have a 'value blackout', a 'pro blackout' and a 'pro blackout extra lite'. That one that says "pro" on it doesn't show up in their graphics. Is that a stick from prostockhockeysticks? you bust it out around 11:30.

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  Před 5 měsíci

      I am not sure how I can be more clear with what the stick is... 1:40 is all about the different options they have on their website and what this stick is specifically.
      That part of the video also covers their sticks that have "Pro" on them.

  • @dagger4442
    @dagger4442 Před 4 měsíci

    There over priced in my opinion. I checked them out $159 plus tax is too much. The feel of the stick felt like a budget stick. It did not feel like you were getting $400 stick for $159. Only 30 day warranty. If you have money to burn go for it I guess. Take a risk.
