    Flott film og super tur! Lærerikt og informativt å lese kommentarene her. Vi har hatt fem dager på vidda nå, og koste oss i Seltjønnlægret vi også. Hilsner fra Tove og Kaja

      Takk for superhyggelig kommetar Tove og Kaja. Har sett på deres videoer også. Bare helt herlige. Jeg overnattet på Sæltjønnlægeret i år også 29.02-01-03. Gikk Finse - Hauk fjellpark på Blefjell. Fin tur, men myyyye snø på slutten. Skal prøve samme turen neste år også. Da vil jeg muligens starte litt senere....

    Hi Bard,
    Great Video. This is an amazing trip that you have done! Did you do this trip solo or with a partner? Afther my summer trip from Haukeliseter to Finse I am planing also a winter trip through the vidda.
    Kind regards from Switzerland - Heini

      Thanks a lot Heini. I did it alone. I really recommend this route. Starting from Finse you will have the sun in the face and normally the wind from behind. Rather flat. Beware: if you do it in February or March it can get cold.... If you need communication, bring a satelite phone. Less than 10% mobile phone cover on this route. There are several companies to rent it from.

      Bård Haug Takk! For your reply and advices. I intend to start in March 2014. Currently I'm searching for a Partner to do this trip.

    Fin film. Hva heter tetltet du brukte og syns du det er vindbestanding nok i sterk kuling osv.vinterstid ?

  • @bardhaug
    @bardhaug  Před 9 lety

    hei Bjarte. Det er et Helsport Svalbard High Camp 3. Vindstabilitet er noe av det som fremheves med dette teltet. Benytter 50 cm lange snøplugger i tillegg til ski og staver. Har kjøpt to pakker (16 stk). Da har jeg gode muligheter for forankring. Viktig å spa snø på stormklaffene. Dette både forankrer og gjør det mye lunere i teltet.

    Hi there!
    We are considering to take the same route like you. Would it please be ok to go around mid of april? Isn’t it too warm then?
    Is it possible to spend some of the nights in the cabins in case needed? Are they open? Where can we get the key from?
    Thanks a lot for helping!

    • @bardhaug
      @bardhaug  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello Mukiker. That should not be a problem. This is easter time. A lot of people out skiing at the Hardangervidda plateau at that time. That late in the season the route will have tracks a big part of the way. The skiing routes on Hardangervidda is marked up every winter (with sticks) from 1st of march. For detailed (and local) info I often call the staff at Krækkja: ut.no/hytte/101064/krkkja they are there from 3rd of march.

    Hi, Beatifull video. Which brand of snow pickets are you using?

    • @bardhaug
      @bardhaug  Před 5 lety

      Thanks Fréson Andrew. It is a Helsport tent (Svalbard High Camp 3) and Helsport 50 snow pegs ( www.helsport.no/plugger-50cm-sno-sand-pk-a-8-stk ). I paint them in a colour to make them easier to find in the snow.

      Thanks cris. Try out: english.dnt.no/winter/
      They are renting out equipement several places in Norway. This is The Norwegian Trekking Association with lokal offoces a lot of places. Mail them you plans ans ask for advice.
      Sledge/pulk: why not buy a "pariserpulk" Might be cheaper than renting. Many pros use this one.

    Hi, thanks for sharing , what shovel model are you using? Have you tried a tunnel tent desing instead that one ? which one do you prefer and why? Also about the snow pegs what paint type and colour did you use to paint them? is it holding great ? thanks in advance

      hello CHEMAwaters A.
      The showel is a Norwegian brand "Norgesredskap" -> "Norwegian Tools" in the cheaper price range, but good enough. The blade can be folded in or angled at 90 deg. Great for digging tunnels. Yes I use tunnel tent very now and then. On a trip like this I prefer this one. å bit more cumbersome to set up, but roomy and can take ANY wind, even if the direction should change during the night..... Alone I have all the time I want for making the camp, so no issue using two minutes more on the tent. In the summer or when I need to be faster, a tunnel tent is OK. being uncertain, I choose this one - Helsport, Svalbard 3-camp high. Any high quality winter tent will do. For the really tough trips, people tend to choose tunnel. It is a bit lighter and when every single calorie counts, a tunnel-tent is more efficient. Snow-pegs: painted yellow with normal car paint. Dont use yellow, use red or something more contrasty if you are going to do it yourself. I used yellow because that was the spray can available in my garage. And no, it does not hold too good. After some time it wears out. So a repaint every now and then is needed if you want them to look good. But just to be seen it is ok even if they look scratchy. for a glimpse inside the tent look here:

    hello what chair or matt conversion are you using? thanks

    • @bardhaug
      @bardhaug  Před 4 lety +1

      Hello CHEMAwaters A. I am using an EXPED Downmat 9LW embedde in a Exped Chair Kit Lw. This gives me both a comfy sitting arrangement and sleiping arrangement. In addition I bring a cell mat placed closest to the ground when sleeping in the tent. The later years I have placed all my sleeping gear in a Piteraque Arctic Bedding. Nowadays I am also using a "wholemat" covering 100% of the tentfloor inside the tent. First time used by the Norwegian Explorer Rune Gjeldnes. Recommended by Børge Ousland in his Book for explorers. You can Get a glimpse of my arrangement here: czcams.com/video/91r566C2lDM/video.html

      Det er et Helsport Svalbard 3 camp high. Veldig godt fornøyd med det. Med såpass stort indre volum og alene blir rim i innerteltet et lite problem.

      Takk for tilbakemelding. Skiene er Åsnes Amundsen. Gikk på kortfell hele veien. Gode ski til dette formålet. Tipset med potetmos er spennende. Må bli drøyere porsjoner av det. Takk for tipset

      Bård Haug Bør jeg øke mengen vann om jeg tilsetter potetmos??

    • @toroddkristoffersen7390
      @toroddkristoffersen7390 Před 10 lety +1

      ja du må øke mengden med vann det jeg pleier å gjøre er å lage den som vanlig la den stå 3 min tar oppi onsket mengde å tilseter mere vann til den kosistensen du sel ønsker så lar du den stå lit til .jeg synes det blir mye bedre den blir lit mildere i smaken å så blir du lit mere met(det hender også at jeg tar meg tiden til å koke ris da kan du bruke ris vannet opi real tur mat så det er bare å bruke fantasien.men det kan lønne seg å kokke det på utsiden eller god lufting tenke på kondens i telte
