Lived here all my life, unfortunately our town centre has become a real dive, lots of homelessness and shops closed down, it’s a real shame because it used to be such a vibrant, lively and a place so many people wanted to come to and now so many want to leave, as I say it’s a shame, there is a video on here somewhere of the town in the 60s when it really looked lovely and clean, but after the Woolworths went, that was the beginning of the downfall, but we do have some nice buildings tho
@@liveanadventure429 can confirm. It used to be an amazing place to shop but half the stores are closed, lots of them have moved and you get a lot of people with bad intent around. Sime places are beautiful and on some days its really enjoyable to go there but it has gone downhill.
Nice nostalgia for me. I use to live there back in the 80s. I use to frequent the King Billy pub a lot back in 88 to 89. I was a goth and had great craic as a youngster lol in there. I also lived in Hackleton village from 84 till 88, about 7 mile from the town, before moving into the town centre. Thanks for sharing. 🙂👍

I lived in Northampton during my University years, and I absolutely love the place... This video just brought back so many fond memories... I heard the University campus is also being moved now.!!! Would be cool if you can tour the new UoN Waterside campus....
I used to live here for 5 years I came when I was 6 years old i left when i was 12 years old now I live in bournemouth for 3 years.i really miss the polish community in Northampton my.greatest memory is going to polish Kickboxing in BST gym.
Worked for Barclay card Birmingham, we went to Northampton to help out on a few occasions, and stayed at a haunted hotel in town centre I can't remember what it was called.
