    Excellent video.
Brings back such find memories of these buses. And look at the cars too. REAL Minis, Austin. Maxi, Cortinas, the lot.
    Excellent.

Yes, it's amazing now to look at what's in the background. Back then it was just an everyday scene......

Bring them back, nothing more exciting than running for a bus and seeing if you can leap on the back as it's leaving a bust stop. The new buses took the joy out of catching a bus.

Good to see the Routemasters in service around Southampton, and the Leyland Nationals and lots of other good buses. A glimpse of Wimpy in there!

I don't usually take so much notice of your bus videos, but this one's particularly poignant as I did work experience at Citybus in Portswood (seen towards the end) the following year that this was shot. Don't remember there being so many Routemasters left by then - they were quite short-lived in Southampton at that time. It was interesting to see buildings that had come and gone - the Bargate Shopping Centre, anyone? Also good to see the ubiquitous Leyland Atlanteans again. Thanks for sharing!

I was going to say earlier, I hope those routemasters saw service after that, if not public service then special services or private hire.

Those Leyland 0600s may be controversial among AEC purists but I think their sound really suits the bus beautifully and it gave Leyland a small share of the LT business.
Particularly liked the shot of the Leyland RM roaring toward you @ 5:12. Reminds me of the AEC Swifts that did the same in the 1990s here.

All the Southampton ones were Leyland, just like the Blackpool ones. Even with the RT vehicles, LT had some Leylands, the RTL & RTW classses......

Soi Buakhao the Leyland RMs were essentially successors to the RTL where the regular AEC 590 ones were "new models" of RT.
