Great explanation, however how to increase COA just to pay for expensive private apartment rent, expensive computers, expensive car payments and etc all paid specifically paid by private student loans and not wishing to ask anything relating to get more grants, scholarships or aids? Basically the complete opposite from this video, attend college not frugally but very expensively for best college experience? Would the college really grill at me for increasing COA's indirect costs which are all 100% paid by my own pocket (private student loan)? Thanks.

It sounds like they only look at tax returns and accounts if you appeal, is that right?

If I sold my home 2022, loss my job 2018, inability to work/disability, should I file an appeal, as my daughter was only awarded $3000 grant $, $8500 housing award and $2000 distinction (merit) award. The financial aid office said if we appeal the most we could get was $1000 more. Should we still appeal?

If I sell my home 2023 and my taxes income goes up due to less deductibles, how will this affect my financial aid if these are the only things that changes?

My tax return for 2020 was zero. How does this affect my FAFSA. Should I write an appeals letter? There is definitely a need and I’d like to avoid loans for the remaining $10,000/year?
