All these electric bicycles could use a rearview mirror. Would also like to see a USB power outlet, covered chain around the pedal, motion sensor alarm, better HD colour display that is KPH/MPH switchable with a clock and trip timer.

    Hi from Croatia Mark.
Been following you for a while now. Since I've started riding motorcycles just over two years ago. I've found smaller UK based channels have more honest and "normal person" point of view on the two wheelers.
Nice to see you have expanded into the bicycles (motorised ones only tho?) since those are fun as well.
If I may, a suggestion regarding the bicycles - constructive criticism, please do not think I'm trying to be an arse.
Most of these "affordable" (arguabe because for me it's a lot of money) and even a really big percentage of the more expensive electric bikes have a dirt cheap drivetrain , brakes and often the forks as well. It does not seem to be something you are overly familiar with and you seem to focus more on the experience of an average user. However the rear derailleur and shifters seem to be the bottom of the barrel Tourney series of Shimano gear which is, for lack of a better term, just crap. For that price I would expect at least Acera if not Altus series, or god-forbid Deore.
Might seem ok(ish) on a brand new bike but give it a few weeks and shifting will probably get "sticky" or start missing gears etc. - esp. if ridden on dusty dirt tracks. Sometimes even outright snap at the shift lever (where the cable feeds into the shifter) etc. - can be mitigated but requires a person with OCD who cleans and oils the bike way too often.
Also the fork just seems like a generic cheapo SR Suntour fork with a shiny lock lever to make it look fancy. Don't have to tell you about all the various issues you can have with dirt cheap forks.
Finally I did not see what the brakes were and even though there are a couple of really good mechanical disk brakes, considering the other components I doubt these are good. The cheapest brakes on a bike heavier than 10-14kg (ish) with an adult on it might have trouble stopping when going downhill.
Sorry about the rant - I guess the advice would be to research Shimano and SRAM component hierarchy - just the basics so you could judge the value for money - and just read a bit about specific brakes and forks on a bike you are currently reviewing so you can judge how many corners have been cut by the manufacturer.
Anyway sorry again about the rant and hope you do not take the rambings of some random bloke on the internet the wrong way 🤣

No problem always welcome constructive criticism....but yes I'm aware that the brakes gears etc on these are bottom of the range but I find that they work fine for normal use ....I have an 8 year old cheap Chinese e bike and all is still fine
      Best wishes mark

Looks nice. Big tyres help off road. Weight ok and I trust the Chinese parts, like u have 2 8 yr old ones and not an problem unlike my mates 4-5 k ones

Mate this is a trail bike not full suspension downhill or even mtb. Don’t need dogs forks or brakes. I ride a crappy uk volt e bike all chinese and I ride with people who have £4-6 k bikes off road but not anything serious but have done coed y Brenin, cant jump but hey ho. A grand 8 yrs ago. Not a fault unlike the Bosch etc

Hi Mark, Thanks for your video which was well put together and presented. My question is are the tires and tubes of the DYU C1 thorn and nail proof ? Thanks in advance!

As all electric bikes in Europe are limited to 250w and many of the cheaper models use the same components don’t they all have near identical performance ?

  • @uptowndisco2

Mark how about the lower power modes , on my DYU King 750 , using lower modes only reduces the top speeds not the power of assist , all modes are full power which is not as good as lowering motor power to conserve the battery for greater range , is this the same or power reduction ? thanks for any info

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  Před 4 měsíci +1

Yes it just reduces top speed in pas 1 and 2 .. I found just keeping it in mode 3 Sport was the best
      Cheers mark

@@markpulling12 Pity I was hoping they had changed that to be more like other E Bikes reducing power of the assist .

Hi Mark, Didn’t know of any other way to contact you but I’m asking if you have the Peugeot XP400 yet on your list to review. Looks really good reviews by others but would appreciate your thoughts. Kind regards. John in Guernsey.

Nice review, thanks. You didn't demonstrate the throttle. Would it have been illegal to do so other than on private land?
