About Royal Blood
Brighton duo Royal Blood comprising drummer Ben Thatcher and bassist/vocalist Mike Kerr formed at the beginning of 2013. They quickly made their presence known, with pounding drums and heavily distorted bass guitar defining characteristics of their ferocious blues-rock sound. The band gained many plaudits early in their career, touring with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Iggy Pop and Foo Fighters, before going on to win Best British Group at the Brits in 2015 receiving their trophy from their musical hero and admirer Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
Their catalogue boasts the Mercury Prize nominated self-titled debut album released in 2014 that spawned hits such as "Out of the Black, "Little Monster:, "Come On Over" and "Figure it Out", as well as their second successive UK number one album "How Did We Get So Dark?" released in 2017 which featured "Lights Out" and "I Only Lie When I Love You".

The two ladies doing the backing vocals/synth sounds doubled the bands size. Totally worth it. This song rocks!
Wonder who they are...?
@@CactuarKnight that’d be cool to know
Ben, the drummer, triggers back vocals and synth effects via triggers on his drum set. So technicaly this is still 2-man band :)
recently they also hired a touring musician who plays keyboard
This is legit one of the closest recorded-to-live vocals I've heard in a long time. Crazy good
I agree as I saw them recently and I’ve seen many many bands live , and they are superb , exactly live as per the recorded work .
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Chapter by Chapter / Verse by Verse !!!!!!! Amen
Mike's vocals are completely flawless and the song is amazing, no wonder why I heard his 2 albums 95 hours on spotify last year hahaha
En promedio has escuchado 4.6 canciones por día en un año xd
Holaa 🙌🏻
Its insane to me how he sings and plays the pre-chorus almost effortlessly
I agree! He does come from a piano playing background though, so playing two different things with two different hands probably helps.
The stage here has pretty strong resemblance to the office from the Time Is Running Out video.
Also, it's a little pop-ier than normal Royal Blood but honestly I really enjoy this song. Looking forward to the new album, I imagine it'll be good.
Shame I don't have any fingerless gloves.
Yeah, I really enjoy this sound
So many comments about Muse! I'm glad to see people like both bands
@@pierrebrunel3155 They do have a lot in common, and IIRC Royal Blood have cited Muse as an influence on their style.
Need those fingerless gloves to listen to the album
i like this sounds more than their previous songs to be honest
Trouble better come out soon 🤘
I heard it is planned to be launched in spring
This song is already out?
@@bencalandra7307 they're on about the album
@@garconpoulet3584 they said it's not gonna be called trouble is coming tho
Troubles Coming is already out but album doesn’t come out until 2021 but I think that’s what you meant
That lighting is dope af. It is kind of bringing back "Figure It Out" vibes! I love it!
This whole thing is being played on a bass guitar?!! Badass!! 🤟🤟
Yes just a bass guitar 🤘
I believe he uses two amps with one modulated an octave up and has pedals to play out of either or both. Crazy set up but it sure as hell works!
I call this the "Supermassive Blackhole" phase. Anyway, great song, great groove, great keyboard job
You know what I can't disagree with this observation
@@Jakeyisdead Concur.
Shit, then it's only downhill from here?
@@joaolazaro5904 hope not!
@@joaolazaro5904 it depends if you thought The Resistance and those after bad
that shirt is absolutely glorious
Best music you can find these days.
Check out All Them Witches. They should be on that list.
Ben Thatcher is a machine on the drums, awesome stuff
Machines aspire to be as good as he is.
Last time I was this early mike was still playing keys ;)
Such a great band. Saw them in 2017, Leeds, absolutely insane!
I for some reason think this better than the studio version
I think it has less fluff, it's straight to the point yah know?
Bang on, way better.
Ye definitely
We all got tired of it. It’s mainly his vocal deliver on “could” that changes the whole song for me.
Guitar is way more prominent in this version. Love it.
Never disappointed by these two
What an awesome performance!
2:53 "Alexa, Trouble's coming!"
Can't wait for concerts to start up again. Saw the boys in 2018. Missed out on seeing them in May and can't wait until I can see them again.
This Is Tomorrow festival?
Same was gonna see them and Metallica in charlotte
@@Alfie02 I missed seeing them in May 2020 at a local venue in the US that they had to cancel due to covid ... I think the Tomorrow festival that you are talking about is May 2021 - which looks amazing as well!
@@MiguelGarcia-mm8kd I was going to see them at a much smaller venue, but I saw the line up to the festival you are talking about and it looked awesome. So many cancelled concerts...
Same position as you saw them in 2018 was supposed to see them again in 2020 at a festival in Atlanta
Its even better live
Crisp, clean , calculated , scientific mathematically musically genius!
WE WANT THE ALBUM
Never knew Rob Stark could play the bass.
Or Christian Pulisic
Isn’t that Mike Kerr?
Rumour has it James Corden was wearing fingerless leather gloves when watching this
I get it 😂😂

Superman and women of Rock/pop
Love the new backup musicians! 💚
Brilliant! Love the extended travel bandmates and the new vibe, but still committed to their own style. Legend!
My hearing hasn't recovered from the Brighton Dome in 2015 !! Great band.
Wow!!! No guitar????!!!! Sounds AMAZING!!!! genius Royal Blood...Kudos
I just love this song so much
imagine if Mike Kerr has a whammy bar on his bass, like some Les Claypool shit
I was just thinking that, it would be amazing!
You sir know your shit👍killer idea
Went to one of ur gigs a few years back, absolutely amazing that you’re coming back with a banger, looking forward for what’s to come!!!
Soooooo energetic. I absolutely adore this band.

The best of Royal Blood! 😎😎
How the hell he maintains his vocals and complex bassline simultaneously?
Check out Rusty cage by Soundgarden...now THATS some impressive shit...still far be it from me to piss on anyone post-gen-X that's playing rock like they mean it
.....scream something anti social, hit a power chord, make a face like you may actually mean --shwingri-la

*LOVE THIS DAFTPUNK VIBE*
Sounds more like Justice to me, but yeah the keyboards add that electronic vibe
❤️❤️❤️❤️
killed it. 👽🤘
I can't wait to hear royal blood's new album and their track with architects!
What? 👀 a track with Architects?
@@JSCAMWSS yess! It'd be so sick
🖤
No hay falla con ellos ✓
Royal blood live in Brighton for radio x
Really tight performance, I echo the comments, fantastic song, and an interesting move with their raw origins still there. You can tell Mike has spent time with Josh Homme, very similar body language/stage presence through this performance! Not a bad thing at all.
