Still my favorite song of theirs, all these yrs later. Backing vocal octave changes are a nice detail so many miss. However, what no one misses is that perfectly loud distorted chord coming immediately after the solo. Btw, they’re on Tour now in support of the new album. Going to see them next week in Houston. Steve Marriott decided he was sick of English blues-rock, and decided he was going to base his rock in SOUL. He forms the Small Faces with three other guys, but despite charting, he's not making any money. He quits, forms Humble Pie, and continues the sound. Won't get into the whole story because it's depressing.
Fast forward to the early 90s, and an A&R guy is watching the Black Crowes live, and he's like "ugh... lots of energy, good chemistry, but they're not... they need better influences." He passes Chris Robinson a tape of Humble Pie, says he represents a major label, tells him to listen to it and if he likes it, maybe they'll work together some time.

I remember first hearing the Beatles on the radio when my parents were away, I must have been 10-11 years old and I ran throughout the hose screaming, it was like I found something completely new. And then music changed forever, until it became complacent.
Then in 1990 at the age of 47, I heard this song by the Black Crowes, and I began to realize that Rock N Roll, straight up Rock N Roll was about to be risen from the dead. The Black Crowes are responsible for real music coming back to the fore in a time of Boy Bands, RAP, and Country music that was anything but what it was meant to be.
The Black Crowes woke up a sleeping world! Thank God above.

Rich is most underrated rhythm guitarist in rock 'n' roll... they were the best songs in our set list..... we played jealous again, twice as hard, hard to handle, and seeing things… Just brilliant straight through Rock 'n' roll rhythm and blues

    Lyrics:-
    Clean as a whistle
    Smellin' like a rose
She got no dirty little fingers
    Bloodshot eyes are gone
    Tell me I"m wrong
    Twice as Hard
As it was the first time
    I said goodbye
And no one ever want to' know
    Love ain't funny
A crime in the wink of an eye
    Your sister always singing
    She play the step child
    A broken little memory
    Her heart was never kind
    Tell me I'm blind
    Yeah, bloodshot eyes are gone
    Tell me I'm wrong
    Twice as Hard
As it was the first time
    I said goodbye...

People don't give enough credit to Black Crowes for destroying hair bands. Even hair bands like Cinderella took note later on with Heartbreak Station. GnR and Black Crowes killed those bands. Seattle just killed the zombified corpses of them.
