    Game LINKS and overview:

    Steam: store.steampowe...
    Build and manage a Maximum Security Prison. As the sun casts it’s early morning rays on a beautiful patch of countryside the clock starts ticking. You’ve got to crack on and build a holding cell to detain the job lot of maximum security prisoners that are trundling to your future prison on their yellow bus. As your workmen lay the last brick you don’t have a moment to let them rest as they need to get started on the first proper cell block so you can make room for the next prisoner intake. Once they’ve all got a place to lay their weary heads the fun can really start.
    You’ll need a canteen, infirmary and a guard room, oh, and don’t forget to plumb in a toilet, or things will get messy, but what about a workout area? Or solitary confinement cells? Or an execution chamber?
    Inspired by Dungeon Keeper, Dwarf Fortress and Theme Hospital and with over 1 million players having spent time inside, Prison Architect is the world’s best lock-em-up.
    Story Mode:
    Prison Architect opens with the story of Edward, a man facing the electric chair for committing a crime of passion. This is followed by four additional chapters focusing on different characters and aspects of prison life. From Mafia Dons to power-crazed senators, Prison Architect has them all! To bring these characters to life, Introversion teamed up with award winning professional writer Chris Hastings, producing an enthralling tale of corruption and human misery set against the background of the modern prison industrial complex.
    Escape Mode:
    Finished your supermax? Got guard dogs roving every corridor and prisoners eating out of your hand? Now you can live the horror by firing up escape mode and play as a prisoner hell-bent on getting the hell out of dodge.
    Dig a tunnel, go for the armoury or start a riot and slip out in the chaos, it’s entirely up to you! Figure out how to escape from your own creation, or hit the random button and load one of the 12,000 prisons created by the steam community, whichever you choose it’s not going to be easy...

    I've had fun with legendary prisoners before. You can't build it like a normal prison. Prisoners have to have the bare minimum of interaction with other prisoners or guards. Way more towers needed. Permanent punishments also useful too but make sure all their cells are fully equipped to keep them occupied. I've found having barred walls mean guards can also contain prisoners within their cells with tasers without having to enter the cells.
    I'm expecting a full rebuild of what you've done so far but it's enjoyable watching someone else go through the learning curve.

    I have an idea:
    What if you separated all the guards with a barred wall, so when there is a fight they can shoot their tasers through it

    • @mefor3
      @mefor3 Před rokem +6

      This is what I do in my supermax/legendary wing. I have a cell design made specifically for them. If the guards miss their taser shot, I tell them to get out of there because then they’ll try to enter the cell and potentially get themselves killed. Then I tell other nearby guards who do have a loaded taser to go over there but usually there’s 10 guards already there. I also have armed guards there at all times with the free fire mod.

    Have I seen it right that the buff guards are taking the shotgun bullets better then bare hand jabs? 🤔
    If so, I would consider arming the prisoners with some firearms to decrease fatalities 😅

  • @greg-qc4iy
    @greg-qc4iy Před rokem +6

    When I built mine it was built around a minimum of guard and staff interaction, completely automated doors on timers, four cells share a small canteen and yard guards are used completely at a minimum. Also heavily air locked the prison and made it all indoors.

    Prisoners stuck in infirmary is a bug thats existed for kinda a while now. The devs are aware of it so hopefully it gets fixed soon.
    To get them out you can either do “escort to infirmary” or “search prisoner”. Search prisoner is better though because obviously it also checks him for contraband he could have stolen during his stay in the infirmary.

    I believe Boiling Point is an independent mechanic not affected by needs. I think it was added in the Gangs DLC. I also think the modifiers are a buggy mess; take those 'super' guards for example... they're slow, weak (should be able to survive a hit or two from an Extremely Deadly prison otherwise there's no point to them being called 'super') and forgetful (they forgot about the guard response)

  • @mikedavies6353
    @mikedavies6353 Před rokem +8

    There's a bug with prisoners in the infirmary beds. The guards don't bother to come and move them. Click escort to infirmary on each of them and they'll get moved.

  • @SomeoneBeginingWithI
    @SomeoneBeginingWithI Před 10 měsíci +2

    Part of the difficulty of the game is that volitile and extremely volitile prisoners will kick off randomly even if all their needs are met. Calming through spiritual guidence does help a bit, but there's still going to be violence. In my game I put all the volitle and extremely volitle prisoners in supermax which is open plan and has a much higher guard ratio. All the furniture is spread out so when they do kick off, the chance that the closest thing to them is another person is as low as possible, mostly they just destroy the furniture until they get tazed. I think it would be possible to design a prison that would work with all of them being legendary, but this setup has too many small rooms and narrow corridors. Having work programmes and privilages for days without incident might help as well, so they have an incentive to behave better.

    No need for 20 mats as breathe therapy can handle only 5 per session.
    Same happened on your training room. Its cap'd by max places of the session or sits in room, whatever is lower.

  • @ZTRCTGuy
    @ZTRCTGuy Před rokem +1

    The two most important traits a prisoner can come with imo is (extremely) volatile and (extremely) deadly. Non volatile prisoners will not cause trouble unless their needs aren't met, which can be arranged. Volatile prisoners will cause a ruckus *regardless* of needs and if you combine that with extremely deadly you got a pretty lethal cocktail.
    Basically the only proper way to handle them imo is to permanently lock them up in a cell or only allow them to go outside in a yard and outdoor canteen under heavy sniper guard. Putting in a load of guards or dogs is basically pointless because of the extremely deadly trait.
    I think your setup right now MIGHT be good for NON volatile prisoners.

      The DLC is very overpriced. I would recommend just getting the base game unless you see the DLCs on sale.
      Have a good read of their descriptions on steam because while some are a bit if fun and a good way to extend the replayability of the game, you definitely don't need them all to enjoy the game.
      Some of them, like the jungle pack are mostly just aesthetic and the gameplay oriented packs only add a few items each.
      The game is good fun, I don't mean to discourage you from playing I just don't think you should save up your money for the DLC because at full price it might be a bit of a let down.
      I don't play with all of them, but even though I got the DLC less than half price I don't think it was worth what I paid. I consider the DLC for this game to be a way for fans to support the title, if you just want extra features the steam workshop will have plenty of content to keep you playing.
      Sorry for posting so late, but i figure you're not the only one who has put off playing because of the price of the 'complete collection' on steam before the sales.

    To be honest, I'm surprised you DIDN'T give all your guards GUNS. Like these are ALL LEGONARY Prisoners, a "normal" prison isn't gonna cut it. I feel a extreme policy of "take no prisoners" when it comes to dealing with them should keep them in line. Gonna need a MORGUE and ALOT more Gun Lockers for this Prison, if the prisoners get violent, SHOOT EM.
    Surprisingly, if you watch the footage back, the Guards take more hits from a Shotgun then getting punched by the LEGONARY prisoners. So having more armed guards might actually help, since the prisoners will become "weaker" by taking the shotguns.

    • @smallcat848

      It could be the mutator. I know some of the mutators are kinda pushed aside when it comes to bug fixing.
      Honestly with tasers, disarming certification, stun batons (which are crazy good), and armed guards, he might not even need the mutator.
