    Great video, perfect length and amount of info. I really appreciate it! Doing my 600mi service in 5min.

    Thanks for taking time to upload. Helm doesn't have service manual right now, and dealer provided only one crush washer. Appreciate the heads-up to get ALL the oil from both plugs! 2022 Base MT owner.

    Thanks so much. Wonderfully informative and concise but still very pleasant. Everything I needed to know. Great job.

    For those newbies like myself, I thought My first oil change really needed to be done by Honda at $143. But found the individual shops do not record or report these to Honda. I could have done it myself for $58. With Honda oil & filters.

    Great tutorial, although mine is a DCT version. I just wish I knew where you got that Honda CRF 1100 comprehensive service manual. Thanks again.

    I got my bike washed today. I came back home and parked, after an hour or so I realized some black/dense oil drips under the bike. Right around the area where you point your finder at 1:41 I realised more oil on that part of the block, and that same vertical CRACK you have! What is that crack? What is that part called? Is it ok to have that crack there, seems like you don't care about it?

    RE: The PITA nut in the front: ___ Just squeeze it a little bit and it will go on tight.
    2021 base model only has 3 screws holding pan on. The right shield is part of the exhaust.

    What about putting on the side stand to drain the oil completely? You may be overfilling it when you add the new oil

      what he said, that is why the one plug is ported at an angle.

    Sounds good, great video.
    Is the AT 2021 DCT the same amount of oil? I am aware I need an extra DCT filter, would that be it?
    Thanks again.

      The oil amount is different, he shows you in the video (link below).
      The DCT filter is part number 15412-MGS-D21 , you can search that on Amazon if you want.
      Be sure to use the right oil, if you use synthetic you can end up with a slipping clutch. Walmart sells it, link for that below too!

    Thanks, appreciate your video. I called Honda and they said it’d be $125 for the first oil change (600 miles)-time for me to be more DIY. So, where did u get the service manual? Thanks again for the video.

      www.helminc.com they are the only ones that have it for the new 2020. 60$+ shipping but it's worth every penny.

    Hi - Could you tell me if this part number is correct for the genuine Honda oil filter on ATAS 2020 - 15410-MCJ-505 -

    • @SkyhookStudios
      @SkyhookStudios  Před 3 lety

      15410-MFJ-D01 should be the # you are looking for. But I guess region could change the part #.

    Do I have to bring in the bike for 600 mile service or is it basically oil and filter change?

  • @tomvaversky7201
    @tomvaversky7201 Před rokem

    What do you think about changing first oil earlier than Honda claims? Example after first 100km.

    • @SkyhookStudios
      @SkyhookStudios  Před rokem

      Best to follow manufacturer recommendations for break in. If you want to perform the regular oil changes sooner throughout the life of the bike, I'm down for that. But changing the oil too early with break in could cause issues. Break in is designed to suspend any soft metal from brand new bearings. If you change it to early, there might be continued wear and then that material would be cycled through the lubrication system for 1ks of miles/kms.

      @@SkyhookStudios Thx for you response 👍. I have 600km on my, and I'm still wondering if I should waiting till 900-1000km or change oil right now. Honda reportedly floods with a special (mineral) oil for break-in.

    Can you keep the tools with this bike?
    ie, any under seat storage?

    • @SkyhookStudios
      @SkyhookStudios  Před 2 lety

      There is very limited space under the seat for anything other then the owners manual and your required papers for ownership. The passenger seat has a couple hand tools attached to it but those are just to remove the battery box cover. There is a travel tool box that bolts to the inside of the left panniers bracket. Last I checked though it doesn't direct fit the new Africa Twin brackets.
