The second song is for a character called "Penance" who is based off real life judge Giovanni Falcone in Italy who fought against the Mafia but ultimately was assassinated. Lavinia Falcone, the character in the song, is all about fighting against the Siracusan Mafia as a judge in a place called Siracusa, a place based on Italy. She tried to fight the mafia but eventually had to comply else they would have her killed and the choice to comply rather than to die fighting haunts her, making her believe that she deserves to suffer for allowing the mafia to use her as a puppet to get away with their crimes hence the code name she chose for herself "Penance"

I LOVE this EP, because it's straight forward with its message, especially if you know who Lavinia Falcone is. This was performed by Allie Armstrong, and composed by Obadiah Brown-Breach (the same composer for All hail Savior [completely opposite in theme]). Lullabye is sang in Russian, and also composed by Obadiah Brown-Beach, and performer is Úyanga Bold. The story and where this song is used as a lullaby for these two children, sang by another character from the anime who we fought with valor.

The hype Arknights players got back there when this specific episode dropped was immaculate.

The game came out over 4 years ago and is still going hella strong. Most EPs (the character songs you've been watching) are not in the game either. They are meant to highlight a specific character (or group of) and their story / backstory / personality. There are plenty of actual OSTs you can listen to, that DO play in the game. Arknights' lore/universe is extremely well fleshed out, but it is also very dark. You could even call it "grim-dark". Like Warhammer 40K levels of grimness. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
