- Stopping to view the ocean from Highway #1 on the coast of California just south of San Francisco, I found this doll lying in a trash pile by the side of the road. I picked it up and immediately visualized this machine. "As above, so below."- this recognition of the parallel nature of our spirit and body helps define the formal structure of the machine.
The intellect may be strong and the adult tormented as a result of it, but the child within dreams innocently. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Thank you Arthur. Found this by mistake. Best mistake ever. That would be a dream to compose music for.
This is on the line between sad and soothing. The movement is very life-like, but the doll has been discarded and neglected. The comment “as above, so below” made me think of unseen forces controlling our world. Great piece!
This is so hypnotic! and the 'mechanics' are too! i wish i was brainy enough to be able to achieve something like this!
Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, the separation with rods and the quiet space between the subject of both pieces felt important. In the way way back of my mind I was referencing what feels like heaven and earth with both works.
This is amazing. Thank you for making it!
Thanks for posting this one, I hadn't seen it before
I think about the dolls previous owner. I like making up the story... Thank you so very much for your work.
machines can be kind of dark, aslo something so cool.
I have never seen anything like this and am nonetheless impressed. I can see the art in these pieces and am simply amazed by the work that goes into them.
INCREDIBLE TALENT !!!!!!!!!!!
this is great
Oh lovely. Now the robots can team up with the creepy dolls to overthrow us.
One man's trash
Fallen behind The Curtain;
The view isn't so bad, after all.
WEE CANN ALLL RELAXX !!!!
love it
THAT'S COOL!
Well, I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.
great very moving LOL!
Is this art? Or an actual machine. Very pretty concept.
buenísimo!
My initial reaction was that the doll's movements are disturbingly life-like. Thinking on it a little more, though, the machine isn't bolted to the doll. Instead, it's actually padded, more like a cradle than anything else. Does the machine animate the doll, or does it react to an infant's movements? Interesting piece.
From a purely mechanical standpoint, I envy the gears. My own tools and techniques are... limited.
impressive :D
Good name.
it is kind of creepy i have to say. the sound of the motors and gears is so very attractive i dont know why, its almost magical!
tell me, how did you attach those 'arms' to the body of the doll...nails?
creepy doll.
it kinda got me thinking...does aliens do that kind of experiments on us? haha
nice vid
I wish to purchase this....
