I know all the history of PANArt. Studied it for 2 years. Felix built steel pans for 20 years, then a musician approached him with tbe idea to put two shells together and play it with hands. Its all in the history.

Most of the credit for this instrument goes to Trinidad and Tobago because it’s just the upside down steel drum

Hi Sharingstories555, I used to sell them in Australia but I've now moved to the UK. If you give me your private email I'll put you in touch with someone in Indonesia who can sell you one (they are handmade and very expensive) or you can buy a cheap chinese copy on Amazon (but it will be very bad quality). Hope this helps. PS I love Nepal and have been many times since 1989 - Namaste my friend :)

Yeah stole from the blacks clams it for yourselves that’s not the real history. He came here to Trinidad stole the tech from the Caribbean ,teach the right history . Yes he improved it but he came to Trinidad and went to Pazn yards

Hi Terrance, thanks for your insights into this- I think PanArt freely acknowledge that they used the techniques and skills that were invented in the Caribbean, I still think it's truly amazing that you can tune a steel drum - it blows my mind!

There are all kindsa stories about how the instrument came to be.
To truly respect them don’t call it a drum!
To truly respect the instrument, talk about how folks can support the Handpan being free to be made (lawsuit you referenced-it’s still ongoing/if they win, the Handpan community will be dismantled.)
Such rubbish to make them look good, when it’s been the way it’s been
      In my opinion

  • @peacechambersoulfiresanctu8008

    Omg!
    For real?
I really should do an accurate history of the instruments.
I do not resonate with about 75% of your historical references/respect.
Short history - only pARTially accurate and the instruments you are playing are not well tuned instruments.
    Woof!
(I was the primary producer for HangOut USA… so ya know, my street cred + KINnection with the Handpan Community and our evolutionary journey

They’re all a bunch of culture vultures you try to get a pattern for it, but it was denied because it’s basically the steel pan but you give Trinidad and Tobago no credit
