Wu Lei is such a great actor. His facial expressions showing his grief is top notch.
Leilei's acting is always top notch. Felt that grief and sorrow as well as that rage and anger when Sun lost his adopted mother. He doesn't overdo it, that's why his acting looked natural and "real".
I’ve only watch this drama over and over again because every character is unique and the actors are great. The story is beyond a historical. The love teams were great. Overall worth watching. Excellent performance with cast.
Such a difficult scene for me. Makes me cry every time I see it. Just superb acting by Wu Lei.

Sher knows he took things way too far. Messing with Changge is one thing because she and Sun's relationship hasn't reached romantic yet, but using Sun's mother as a hostage... is going way too far. He knows he let his jealousy and his ego get to him. When Sun was about to kill him and Sher's mother protected him, you can see in Sher's eyes that he knows Sun's mother was doing the samething for him. Except she sacrificed herself to protect her son. But, because of him, he took Sun's mother away.
They always kill everyone that is not powerful... the servants/ women/soldiers die like ants 🐜🐜🐜... even if they didn't kill anyone .These Chinese writters need to improve a lot their plot.
" It was a way of living" is not the excuse,a lot it's fantasy in the story....not for hope and justice though.
Lessons learned from Chinese ancient dramas:
1)Become the most powerful or you won't survive ,so most of the people don't have a chance.
2)Be happy to be just another woman for your lover 💩( he won't stop having concubines just because he loves you).
Action is the only point up.Love is just " pinky"...

I can't remember how many times I watched this drama again and again.. Lu was at his best in this drama.. but not seen love like the galaxy for a second time because of his facial expressions 🙃🙃
Each to his or her own. Wu Lei was beautiful in Love Like the Galaxy too. But I have not seen it for the 2nd time because Zhao Lusi's character was terrible and annoying 😋

I am more impressed by Sun's character than that of Ling Buyi too. I can watched Changge Xing again and again and still get goosebumps every time I watch the scene of his mother's death. Wu Lei is a real top-notch actor. So talented. So handsome. ❤❤

He was so upset with Li Changge after this 😞
As he should be...but even in such a tragic event, what I love about this couple is that they didn't sit around hating and blaming each other. Almost immediately, Sun regretted his words and went searching for her. Changge also acknowledged that her selfish actions led to events that hurt Sun and felt remorseful/guilty. She thought it only right if he hated her and didn't come looking for her. It shows how understanding of the other they each are and I love that aspect in their relationship. Similarly, Changge never blamed or hated Sun for not being completely honest with his identity or for the death of her comrades in the battles between them. Anyone unreasonable would have been angry and blamed the other, but again, there is mutual understanding that neither can betray their own country and both are doing their best not to harm the other in the process. When Sun told Changge that he couldn't betray Ashile or his foster father, Changge did not get upset with him for "choosing" those things over her. She was supportive of him because she understood him. They have one of the most mature, understanding, and healthy relationships I've seen in a long time and it's so impressive considering that they're supposed to be enemies from the very beginning.

To each his or her own. I love this drama. It's one of the most memorable dramas I've seen in a long time, and one that I watched without skipping over anything. It left a positive impression on me. Cast was also perfect. Wu Lei and Dilraba were fantastic in their roles and they had really, really good chemistry considering that the romance was done without any of the bedroom or intimate kissing that they often have to rely on in dramas nowadays for viewership. Their ages were not noticable enough to bother me. Wu Lei looks and carries himself in a very mature way while Dilraba has a baby face so she looks a lot younger than her age. I think most of those complaining already knew their age gap so they went into the drama with a strong bias.
