- Come Sail with The Philly Captain as he and his family go walking the boardwalk in Atlantic City. The walk starts off at the hard rock, where we see a car owned by Elvis and guitars used by Jimi Hendricks. Take a walk down the steel pier and we take a few steps on the beach. Walk through a dead mall with an amazing view and we end our walk showing you a scam.

Mason needs to lean into being the villain of the vlog. 😂 Call you Pops, wear a Mets hat, borrowing money etc 😂
I loved the old Showboat casino! They gave me many a free nights stay. Its the only casino that I came out ahead, lol. Love your videos Cap!
Hey Philly Captain, great video with your Misses C, Jules & Mason in Atlantic City, NJ..Free beach, boardwalk, casino, and more..TOODLES..
The Irish Pub! Let’s go!!!!!
We still have the Seward Johnson statues in Mayfair Jon. Nine of them! They are scattered all along Frankford Avenue and they will be here until the end of September.
Thanks for the shout out!
We all know Cap snuck out for a late night massage parlor visit 😉
He will give his real email address to those places for marketing because he wants the $5 off coupon! 😂
Atlantic City used to be known as the lungs of Philadelphia. That mall was wiped out by the outlet stores, just off the boardwalk. A film studio, I believe operates in it now. A merry go round is at a school yard or a playground. A carousel has the horses on it. Usually on a boardwalk, or fair. There's a Dave and Busters off the boardwalk near Caesars. DO AC!
Still no reason why a nice place like that shouldn’t be thriving, The state government ran it into the ground, I see this and don’t understand why it can’t be just like Ocean city Maryland, there’s so many people in OCean city Maryland that you can’t even walk down the boardwalk.
Thanks for the awesome video that place was awesome I enjoyed watching
Atlantic City Pop Festival 1969, 2 weeks before Woodstock. 3 days long. Janis Joplin, CCR, most of all the bands at Woodstock ✌️❤️🎶
Wild west casino was my jawn back in the day
Mountain bar all day happy hour was the best deal on the boardwalk. Great on Football Sundays.
A lot of people are always saying how terrible AC is. Like it's this horrific place. AC is no worse than any other major touristy city around the U.S and even the world. You could view and say the same about all of them to be quite honest. They all have good and bad. That's just a part of life. You can't have the good without the bad. No place is perfect.
Here we are!!!
Nice visit.
Many fond memories of AC! Would love to sit down with the Captain over a few beers and talk about the good times at the shore and watching the Phillies.
i fear you would do much more listening than talking
Thanks Captain!!! 😊
Every year from the late 80s to early 2000s, I'd visit the AC boardwalk . Used to love goojt to that 99c store, Ocean One Mall, and my favorite shop was a tshirt place called Rainbow Tees.
I went to the showboat for a vacation with my folks last year! Very cool! 😄
i love it there and go every year....thanks for the video!
New Jersey should be embarrassed that Atlantic City is the way it is now, there’s no reason Atlantic City shouldn’t be more like Ocean City Maryland or even the Jersey Shore. They’ve let that place fall apart and it’s all because of the way the states government has run it into the ground.
Ocean City NJ is Nice but I prefer any beach on the Gulf Coast of Florida
That's preety depressing about that mall! The fountain show was really cool and they used to have some really nice high end stores and restaurants! Loved the view up top over the beach! Sad to see what is is now, I guess all the outlets killed their businesses! Thanks for Sharing!
I live in NJ about 45 minutes away. I call it a merry go round. Only been to Ocean City boardwalk once this season. Haven’t been to AC since going to Resorts in February for a show.
Enjoying the AC content.
I am 70 this year ! Spent many days on the Steel Pier as a little boy ! Looks like all outdoor rides now ! Their were a lot of indoor buildings before ,with indoor attractions ! I saw Little Stevie Wonder , they had a weekly indoor TV Dance Show Broadcast , The BEATLES even Played There ! Saw the Diving Horse and the Clown Water Show at the End of the Pier Many Many times ! They had more than one horse ! Nobody Pushed the horse off , it Would jump off on its own after looking down ! There was a Diving Bell that you could go down in the water , that was Cool ! So many things to do ,NOT JUST RIDES ! To Bad All That Seems To Be Gone !
Merry-go-round all the way Captain!
Atlantic City was fashionable around 1880. It had a comeback around 1977, but that faded too.
It was fine for decades after the 80's as well. I know a few family stories before they tore everything down to build parking garages.
That is depressing with the Mall!!!
Thanks Capt for making this content brings me back in time as it's been about 15 years since I've been to Atlantic City and my parents brought me there almost every summer growing up until they experienced Vegas. 🎉
That Playground area you were walking around with the great view used to be the Ocean One Mall and all those restaurants up on the top floor used to be a very busy area. I don't think the retail stores every did great business but there was an Apple Store back when it was the Ocean One Mall. They sold the Mall and it became the Playground more geared towards bars and nightlife with bands etc., but never really took off. Now it is supposed to become a Movie Studio but not sure if that deal fell thru because I do not see any activity and well since you walk thru they certainly haven't begun any activity to convert it to a Movie Studio. I like that you are switching it up with a trip to Atlantic City. I always remember the beaches at Atlantic City being really small and not much sand area. We always spent the summers in Wildwood where the beaches use to be a mile long or at least it seemed to be that long. I think even the Wildwood Beaches have become smaller but still way bigger than Atlantic City. Lastly, yes definitely a Merry Go Round. Let's Keep the Carousel in the Movies and Broadway Shows.
Right on, Captain!
Fun fact about the high dive horse at Steel Peir, one of the riders was Sarah Detwiler Hart, wife of the late great Gene Hart and mother of Lauren Hart
Awesome videos as always👍🏽👍🏽. I haven’t been to AC in so but now I just took a virtual trip there thanks to the Cap🙌🏽
That dead mall used to be The Ocean One Mall. In the 80s and early 90s, I basically lived there as a kid. I hate what it is now.
I went to Atlantic city last year with my mom we spent a day on the boardwalk
Thanks for this! I wanted to do a day trip here. I hate what has happened to the malls everywhere. You were recently at the Berkshire mall and it’s sad how that has declined.
fire vid bro !!!! you funny as hell my guy lmao
Thanks!
she really looked thrilled to be there.arcade looked cool
That’s her gimmick.
Merry Go Around!
Very cool - I havnt been to A/C in over 10 years. It was nice to see it still hustling and bustling a bit. Even though the casinos are getting fewer and fewer aye?
I can’t believe how blue the water was. To me it’s a merry-go- round.
50 years ago, I'd hop on a bus in Haddon Heights and go to AC for the day. My parents would have had a fit if they knew. I was 10 years old. Meet some very "interesting" people too. Still like it over other shore destinations 😊
We were at the Steel Pier years ago and decided not to do the "slingshot" ride - and it collapsed the very next weekend!
In Detroit we say merry go round. We also say pop not soda, and sucker not lollipop.
Been there and stayed at Oceans Casino Resort. Its a nice place. AC Boardwalk at night isnt safe. We would go to Ocean City NJ or Wildwood. It's Sugar is my favorite store on the AC Boardwalk
Irish pub great food and great beer to wash it down with
I did not know about showboat not being a casino I would walk past on my way to hard rock I went to showboat when they had bowling lanes and actually went bowling a couple of times. Maybe 20 or more years ago. My wife says let’s go Mets, I disagree I belong to Yankees nation.
I stay at Tropicana..love the restaurants there.. it's sad that the mall is dead.. I still remember sitting with my friends at that sushi bar in the mall having some beers.. Love The view
Omg Jon those segments with Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan on the boardwalk promoting Wrestlemania were classic. Anyway the boardwalk looks nice. Wasn’t it rundown for years
Nice video, by the way The mall is a movie studio now
Can you still get out on the back decks at the mall? Used to be some great restaraunts in there. SAD,
Here we are
Great boardwalk. You should do Jenkinsons boardwalk/Point Pleasant one of these days. Stop by and get yaself a nice Kohrs custard! Thanks for sharing.
I was at Point Pleasant last year
here we are its merry go round, crick etc
Let me get the F*%K outta here!😂😂😂... love that!!!
Damn I like that mall and i sure as hell love it when was ocean one back in day good food games in early 2000s it was money 🤑 back then
Seems like that mall on the pier just has bad luck. I was there before covid and there was a very nice crowd there. No doubt there will be an effort to put something else in there soon.
You must be down there on a weekday because the crowds are not that big. Although things get going after Memorial Day down at the shore, it's not until July that things really pick up. Still the really large crowds come down on the weekends.
The whole thing with the weekends tells me that AC and most of the Jershey shore still relies on Philly and NYC for their crowds.
I will be down there next week and I don't expect the big crowds until Fri or Saturday. There's pro's and con's to having big crowds vs small crowds. I am going to stay at the Tropicana and Caesars. It's hard to believe but I have never stayed at the two best which are the Borgata and Ocean....
It’s a merry-go-round….. people who say Carousel probably say Philadelphia Mills
Merry go round
carousel and mary-go-rounds are two different things and it revolves (pun intented) around what you ride on. if it is only horses it's a carousel but if there are other animals or objects that are rideable it's a mary-go-round.
Staying in the hard rock today. To bad I did not see you.
🔥🔥
🎉🎉dude just washed his south philly 🎉🎉😮
Had my honeymoon at the hard rock casino 3 years ago in May 15th
Can you do the wildwood boardwalk again cap?
I will soon
There is a shop that has knock off Phillies hats in all colors 5 for like $60. I think I picked up all the different color Phillies hats at that store
Always thought wild wood was the biggest ferris wheel in nj....
Wildwood has the largest open seat ferris wheel
Captain next time you go on the boardwalk you should ask people witch is better Shrooms or weed
No
Is it possible to take us on a trip to the Germantown area. Starting at Germantown and Chelten and going up north to Chew and Chelten. I grew up there and would like to see it again since i left there in 1974.
Check out my history of Germantown video.
Welcome to my stomping grounds
I wonder how much those fake monks make? Kind of hilarious that there are fake monks popping up everywhere asking for money when real Buddhist Monks take a vow of poverty.
U been to AC airshow it almost got cancelled dis year
HBO show. Would that be Hookers at the Point when they went to AC
Hahaha shit, I forgot all about that show.
No HE at Message Paradise
I remember I went in 2016. It seemed like trash. Stuck in the past. The Trump casino was 🍑. Looked and smelled old. Stuck in the 80s. And had a lot of smoke smell.
Family resort?😂
Carousel 🎉🎉
what happened at the 8:55 edit?
Seagulls fighting over food
0:38 did you boo her boyfriend?? 🤣🤣🤟 the man
Place looks empty
For a long time where you now see empty stores, they all had stores operating in them. It was like a ghost town but all the shops were open for business, that looked WEIRD
Im sorry Captain but a merry-go-round is on a playground that my friend is a CAROUSEL 🎠🎠🎠
Lmao i take it you hate the giants mets and yankees
Doesn't everyone?
Merry go Round and Hero wtf is a hoagie
Thank you for this video. 🩷
