I guess there's a lot of ambiguity wrt Wavell's Breakdown Plan. Wavell, if you read from sources other than Spectrum, wanted to avoid partitioning India. He wanted to retain India as one geographical entity.
That's why he recommended a gradual withdrawal of British Government of India, starting from the southern states.
And he also called for partitioning Punjab, Bengal and Assam to such extent that it would make a potential Pakistan geographically very weaker and smaller, making it unattractive for Jinnah.
Spectrum doesn't give out enough details correctly on this. Rather, this was the very reason Wavell was removed from his position and Mountbatten was made the new viceroy.
There's very little info available online on Wavell's Breakdown Plan though.
I'd be happy if someone throws more light on this!😇🙌🏽

Jinnha was great personality great lawyer btw he support for making pakistan as like gandhi want to make union of india . Both have own personality, and if he was alive he could change the condition of Pakistan no doubt ! As i am indian respect jinnah because he helped indians too he was lawyer of tilak for his trial ❤
