Pressure Washing Painted Metal Chairs

- These metal chairs are out of an old grain bin covered in years of rust, spider webs, mud dauber nests, layers of paint and dirt. I had originally planned to paint them but after power washing them and seeing how cool they looked, I decided to take a page from the rat rodders and clear coated them.

Hi, Thanks for checking out my video, I would love to hear from you.
They look great. Can't believe you toned down the washer noise, added music, stayed dry and clean and made a relaxing Sunday morning video from blasting dirt and paint. Very nice.
Thanks for noticing. 🙂
A few years back I went to a fellow truck builders Toy Drive. At his restoration shop, an old restored Sinclair gas station, he had some chairs like those. I sat in one and it quickly fell back breaking the legs. I repaired it with a spider web design. Wish I could include a pic. Great video.
As you were spraying them I was thinking how cool they looked just as they are. I was glad to read in your comment you left them like that! Nice!
Great minds think alike. 😉
i have those exact same chairs and was wanting to keep the aged look...i came here to find out what to do..like i thought just clean em up and clear coat...thanx so much!
Go for it!
That was so gratifying to watch haha
oh man, this was so relaxing to watch! spraying the dirt away to some soothing tunes.... love it!
Thanks, Share it!
Did anyone else notice the way Alexander use different objects to stay incognito?🤣
Nice chairs as well.
Thank you. You know I have never tried to hide my face per se but I never really feel like I am the subject of my videos so my editing is intended to keep focus on the subject. 😎
I'm not a big fan of music being played on CZcams video, however, your song selection was quite relaxing. 👍
Yes, I know what you mean. It really comes down to execution of the technique. When done well it adds to the effect and when done poorly it can be a grating distraction. Thanks for you observation and thumb of approval.
What beautiful chairs from not too long ago. By chance, did you sell them ,refurbish them, and keep them or refurbish and sell them?
A little bit of clear coat and we still use them to this day.
Nice music, Alexander. I thought your German Shepards were going to lift their leg on your freshly, cleaned chairs, after all your work cleaning them up.
Being as artistic as you are, I’m wondering if you will keep the chairs as they are, only coating them with a rust-proof finish for metal? Or, will you paint them or finish them off with one of your creative solutions that I would never think of? Look forward to the follow-up, if any...
BTW, where can I find the name of the recording you used as background music. Great selection.
All that is in the description friend. 🙂
I clear coated these since they looked so cool after washing them. We have had and do have other metal chairs that get layers of different colors of paint on them and these will get painted along with the others in years down the road. You are never really done which is good with me. I enjoy all the stages that painted metal chairs go through during their years of service. These are the first I have ever clear coated though.

Thanks for all your support, I appreciate it.
Hi, just seen this. Looks great. I have similar chairs and want to keep them bashed up looking! When you say you 'clear coated' them, is that the same as painting them with a clear lacquer? I don't have a power washer so will hand sand them. Cheers.
What ever is clear and stands up to the outdoors. I am not a coating expert but yeah clear lacquer might work, polyurethane, what ever they clear coat cars with. Maybe ask at NAPA or some car parts place that carries automotive paint supplies.
cool💪👍
Thanks for that. ✨🌞
just wanted to comment , please leave them like they are :) .... such beauties !!!
I agree, These chairs will only look like this once so I clear coated them.
What pressure did you used?
At the beginning of the video he showed his presure washer. It was 2600 PSI, 2.3 GPM
You were WAY too far away...get close dude!
