Many people complain that the journey to Koh Lipe by sea, land, and air is too long. There are no direct flights from Hat Yai, and it takes another 2 hours+ to drive to the pier. In that case, you can choose to take a boat from Malaysia's Langkawi to Koh Lipe, which will be much easier. Firstly, the boat ride is only 1.5 to 2 hours, but the boat from Langkawi is a double-decker, so there's no sun or sea breeze. If the sea is calm, you won't feel seasick either. The boat from Satun to Koh Lipe is a speedboat, which can be bumpy and expose you to the sun, and there's not much room to stretch your legs. Secondly, Langkawi used to be a popular tourist city. Some cities in China can fly directly to Langkawi, so you can play in Langkawi for 1-2 days before heading to Koh Lipe.
Entering Malaysia by air is generally more strict than by land or sea. However, on May 4th, Malaysia announced the simplification of visa-free entry documents. Hotel bookings, boarding passes, and proof of funds are no longer required, and there is no cooling-off period for three consecutive entries and exits. It's best to purchase on the official website or travel platform one day in advance. Personally, I prefer to buy them on KLOOK.
