8 Transfer Hijacks That Ended Horribly
And who better to start this video with than Mykhailo Mudryk? This guy was so close to joining Arsenal in January 2023 and it looked like it was all but done until Chelsea came into the picture and hijacked the entire deal.
And this is not the only hijack that has ended horribly for Chelsea in recent times. They also hijacked Romeo Lavia from Liverpool in the summer, and there’s not much to say about that except that Lavia has still not played a single game for Chelsea while the guys Liverpool decided to go for - Gravenberch and Endo - have played, performed, and even scored for the Reds.
And guess what! That was not even the first time United hijacking a player from City ended horribly. If you remember, City wanted to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in 2018, but the Red Devils came in, snatched the Chilean, set him up in front of the piano, and ended up facing the music.
Let’s now cross over to La Liga. Barcelona were reportedly close to signing Gigi Wijnaldum from Liverpool in 2021, but he ended up moving to PSG because they offered him twice the wages the Catalan club was offering.

it's not just scoring goals that matters...it's his attitude that had negative influence on the whole team and his career. I feel like he can still play in Europe but look where he ended up after Man Utd.

I think it’s worth noting that we (Brentford) tried to sign Mudryk a season earlier and submitted a few bids. He has great potential and really could have developed at Brentford then sold to a bigger club.

If you really think that Mudryk, Lavia and Güler belong on this list, than you probably don't know as much about football as you might think you do. To start with Mudryk, he is still young and needs to develope. Who knows what he can achieve in the future, you can't call him a bad signing for Chelsea. He's certainly been better than Sterling, that's for sure! That bloke is arguably the worst player to ever wear our shirt! I mean, all he can do appart from scoring a few lucky goals is run fast and loose the ball. And on Lavia and Güler, they haven't played yet so you can't judge them! Them being unavailable so far is not all that big of a deal for their clubs, besides it's not their fault. Calling them flops already is just a huge insult to everybody involved. SHAME ON YOU!

Why? Just because he's had a slow start to things at Chelsea? We'll take it slow with him, he gets developed and he'll come good eventually. He might be the next Eden Hazard, and who knows maybe if he'd joined Arsenal he might be playing like Vinícius right now. You never know, Arteta is a great manager he might have pulled it off. Which Club/Manager a player joins has a huge impact on his performances.

When peoples say that Ronaldo wasn't a flop at United in his second spell because he scored many goals and all that and honestly football is not the game which is only about attack and scoring goals, but it requires us to defend and win the ball back when the opposition has the ball possession and in the modern game it requires the pressing center forward and Ronaldo is not suitable for that role in United and not in the premier league at that age and in other teams like Real madrid, Juventus and even his first spell at Manchester United he was carried and helped by other players in the team who are much better and it was certainly a flop signing because on that very season United went worse and City is lucky not to sign him.
