    Highest praise for Razorock razors and that triple-milled soap they have. The set of four is a terrific value. All the Razorock razors have unmatched value for your dollar. Love their variety of handles, but of course the Game Changer, Lupo, the Baby Smooth aluminum, the BBS stainless, etc.

    Morning Chris. I agree that Razorock makes some great razors. You do a good job lathering a hard soap. When I use a triple milled soap I can’t help but remember back in the day using Williams and Colgate pucks. Back then I was always in a hurry and the lather was a little thin, had to keep reapplying lather during my shave.
    Take care and be safe. God bless.

    Great shave Chris! I have this one also and while I like it, the lime is my favorite out of the three pack. These last forever and I'll probably have to put them in my will along with Michelle's and Williams. The Gamechanger is great, and so are a bunch of RazoRock's razors. The fit and finish is really nice and competes with higher priced razors. I'm excited I have a new razor (for me) coming, I got a Henson Aggressive ordered up. So, the run is happening, which I was just wondering about, and then I got a link yesterday to get it. This will be my first aluminum razor and I'll finally get to experience Henson's head geometry.

    Nice video. It really resonated with me. I sold my Rex Ambassador last week. The thing just kept cutting skin imperfections off. It didn't matter if I used no pressure, I'd still slice them off. It got to the point where I started getting scars on one side of my head where I had the most issues. I think the bumps came from eating chocolate. I'm back using my trusty .84 and the scars and slowly going away. And since I had to compensate for the weight of the Ambassador, my shaves with the Gamechanger are buttery smooth. The Ambassador was a looker but it was just too aggressive and heavy in my experience.

    • @IAMCDB
      @IAMCDB  Před 2 lety +2

      That's definitely the right call. If something isn't working after a lot of us, it's best to move it along. The Ambassador is definitely not the smoothest of shavers. I own one and like it, but honestly, the Konsul is probably going to be responsible for sending it down the road. It's much smoother.

      @@RonnieYates Well, it wasn't just the issue with me eating chocolate. There were times I would shave with it on 2.5 and when I'd splash water on my head it would burn like hell. It being heavy and aggressive was the issue. I tried it out and it just wasn't the razor for me.

    Razorock products in general are great for the price. The what the puck soaps almost last TOO long. Sadly I only liked the citrus scents, but the product still gets my approval.
    A lesson I learned as a knife collector: try to avoid hitting that feeling of "it costs more so it's inherently better." I have expensive things that brought me joy, and inexpensive things that arguably brought just as much, if not more.
    So in the end a hobby (or really anything) should never be valued by what you spend.

    Hi Chris! I agree that premium razors don’t necessarily perform better than less expensive offerings. My best shaver is my Rex Ambassador. But, maybe that’s at least partly due to how frequently I used it. I’m likely better at using it because I like it so much. The Phoenix Shaving Ascension Twist Adjustable DOC shaves almost as well for a lot less money, and less frequent use. And I only buy inexpensive synthetic brushes at this point. They seem to perform better for me and cost way less. Of course that’s just me and Lord knows for all of us, YMMV. God bless!

    • @IAMCDB
      @IAMCDB  Před 2 lety +1

    • @IAMCDB
      @IAMCDB  Před 2 lety +1

      My general rule is that I'll pay for a scent but NEVER alleged performance. The soaps 10 years ago were good, the soaps today are good. Improvements have been made but they are incremental. I always ask myself, how were my shaves 10 years ago relative to day? The answer? Great then, great now. Very little change in the actual shave. So you have to ask yourself, what is the benefit of all this alleged increased performance if the end result is the same?
