xTool M1 laser unboxing, setup, first projects, and final thoughts. Xtool sent me the new M1 hybrid laser cutter/engraver to try out. I am using a laser engraver for the first time and engrave and cut out wooden certificates of authenticity, create a metal business card with a design as well as test the blade attachment with some heat transfer vinyl. I unbox this new machine, set it up, make our first projects, and leave our honest review.

Omigosh! I love getting a face to the voice! You’re so cute! You have so many fun toys. I have an Elegoo Mars printer and sub basic knowledge. I dream of being able to 3D sculpt accessories for my dolls
Thank you 🤗 I was super nervous about doing it, I don't like being on camera. It helps that my husband is an artist too and we feed each other's habits. Its easy to convince yourself to buy a new toy when you both will use them!
@@LadyDynamiteCreates My brother is like that with me and bought me my 3D printer. I don’t know if I’d ever had bought one myself, they are intimidating 🤣
@@magg314k My husband bought our first 2 3d printers too then I took them over and bought 2 more 🤣I definitely felt that way early on but have pushed myself more out of my comfort zone and tried to troubleshoot without help. My triumph was taking it apart and fixing ribbon cables when my display screen went out!

How do you like the way this laser performs?
So far I am very happy with it. I have never used another laser before so I can't compare but so far its performed every project I have tossed its way with no problems. I do find that I need to choose my own settings, the default settings are usually not great so I have to run the test grids on new materials first. I would say the inability to save my own materials profile is my only complaint atm. I recently upgraded and bought the air assist for it too and it makes the cuts even cleaner.
