- Glitch Picnic Episode 34 takes us into the world of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Glitches for the Gamecube! Note: The glitches you see in this video are possible on all other versions of the game, however, certain out of bounds clips are slightly different, due to collision detection differences in the versions :)
There are some great glitches in this game. Some helpful, some not so helpful and some incredible! The last glitch in here is the best I've seen for a while, so you gotta stay to check it out... Or just skip to the end ;)

Sorry it's late guys, I've been super ill over christmas and new year... For about 2 weeks straight I could barely speak so I couldn't record any audio for this one! What a pain...
Anyways, I have no idea what the next video is gonna be, so if any of you guys have suggestions then feel free to throw them at me! I have one or 2 in mind, but... I have to see if there are enough glitches in them to be worthwhile!

MikeyTaylorGaming how about you try Sonic Adventure 1? I owned a 360 version that came in a Dreamcast Collection with other Dreamcast titles (Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5 and Sega Bass Fishing). needless to say, it was quite glitchy. however I never owned a GameCube or Dreamcast version of SA1 or SADX, so I can't compare.

For once I actually knew about all the glitches in this video, I found them myself too. For example the hover jump can be used in the 2p desert stage to get onto the big sandstone bricks where you can jump down the hole and fall forever, there's also a glitch in the 2p pyramid stage where you can end up running on a completely vertical wall at one point.
Also the technique of moving side to side when driving the kart is known as 'Snaking' and is present in some other racing games to different degrees like F-Zero GX.

You deserve more views. Like you said in a few videos, others may have covered some of the games you did too, but I feel like you're the one who had the most fun doing it, and that makes it just so much more fun to watch

I love SA2, did you know about a lot of the lighting in the cutscenes being broken in the Battle version? Search up the dreamcast version of the cutscene where Sonic is in prison. All of the bars had shadows, but in the Battle version and later there wasn't even one shadow! -unless you count the mention of the black hedgehog-

You know what I love? Ratchet and Clank 2 and 3. The test room glitch here reminds me of this, because the devs decide to GIVE you that room, particularly in R&C2 where the room for testing angles to walk on is just there in the distance, accessible by teleporter. The Insomniac Museum was pure genius, and it's sad that a museum of debugs, test rooms, and cut content isn't available to regular players in every video game.
glad to see this video Mikey! I'm hopefully going to purchase SA2Battle for the GameCube one day, as my Wii is compatible with GameCube games, so I hope to try these glitches out when I get it.
with that said, it means I have to get the GameCube controller, memory card and games for the GameCube. I'm even considering purchasing Sonic Heroes again just for something to play with the GameCube controller (I've played the PS2 version since its release and I know that version is inferior to the Xbox and GameCube versions).
I also mentioned SADX on my reply to your pinned comment, so I may try out the GameCube version of SA1 so I can compare to the 360 port I currently own, but by the looks of things, the 360 version has same graphics as GameCube SA1, but plays like the Dreamcast SA1 (no mission mode, Dreamcast version of the logo, etc).
SA1 is very similar no matter which version you play if I'm completely honest. The visuals differ very slightly but other than that there's not much different I don't think! :)
It's true that the Wii is compatible with GC controllers and the like and you can probably pick up controllers and memory cards pretty cheap these days!
I personally emulated SA2 on my PC to record this video but it wasn't 100% perfect... I'm gonna upgrade it soon so that I can record GC games at much higher resolution :)
Great video! There is actually another glitch involving the chao key. If you complete a 2 player race, and then do the chao key glitch, you will be teleported to the final level of the 2 player race. for example, in the PS3, XBOX 360, and PC versions, if you finish a 2 player race on Final Rush, then do the chao key glitch with Knuckles, it will teleport you to final rush as Knuckles, and not the test stage.
Yuuuuup, I mention that towards the end, about Dark Spines Sonic's video! :)

Wow these are almost all speedrun tricks for this game! SA2B is my fave speedrun game to watch and I’m trying to learn ti myself. Hopefully this video will get more people into speedrunning this game, it’s a really cool game to speedrun!
+Dragons Thanos I love speedruns! So I used a fair few glitches from popular speedruns :p the test area glitch though... That thing is something else. I love stuff like that!
Well, yeah the testing area isn’t very useful in speedruns lol but the chao key glitch is useful in any% runs tho ;)

Yeahhh... I noticed that after editing... Ah well! Kept you guessing ;)
I use the Xbox 360. And you forgot about in City Escape when you go to the place with the two boost panels and the tire. If you pick up the tire but it makes you go on the boost panel, sonic will just slide around. It also happens if you're holding something and go on the boost panels and throw the thing you're holding. I even quoted it. "Blast proccesing indeed." That's the quote!
Shadow also has a chaokey glitch in White Jungle just like Sonic's just harder to perform, essentially rather than waiting you have to run to the chao key before the screen fades out. The HD versions have far more tricks that can be performed with the Chao Key, such as Treasure Hunters & Mechs in any 2P Action Race Stage & characters in parts of Cannon's core they weren't supposed to play through. Of course the tedious performance of these glitches is why I prefer breaking out of bounds over Chao Key glitches.

What about the clip with Knuckles in Cannon's Core? That one's probably the most useful of all the skips
Man, I played this game a lot for a decade and never knew about any of those glitches, although I did find an odd situation in Metal Harbor... a useless one, but it was pretty weird; apparently, if you go to the part of the level with all of the jets and head to the back-left of the area, one of the Jets will fly off to the background and enter attack mode.

Here's one. In final rush, right before the two bounce bracelet sections, you can spindash jump out of bounds and back to bounds to skip both sections. Thus beating the game without getting the bounce bracelet.

Did you know there's an extra life in the space racing level when playing battle mode? All I remember I is the area with the rails with walls to the left right and above and the life is towards the bottom of the map on the right. Since there are no lives in battle racing I find it interesting that the developers left it in the level probably by mistake.
Great video Mikey! Since you dont know what video will come next, could I suggest Rayman 2? It doesnt have loads of glitches but there are some interesting ones.
Rayman 2 is probably a game I'll be covering! But I just don't know when. They're great games, but I've never seen many glitches for em like you say!
The lack of collision in "unreachable" places isn't because of lazy developing and actually saves performance best utilised elsewhere for these relatively low spec consoles.
Actually, instead of falling forever in the test level. You'll actually land on an invisible floor. But it at least takes like 20 to 30 minutes

in battle if you go to green jungle and choose metal sonic, and use his shield thing as soon as you get in you can get thrown into a tree and fall endlessly into a void
Some of these are so easy... Can't believe they missed them, even in the remakes!
Man, the next episode has an unbelievably simple glitch. Like, seriously. And it breaks quite a few things too. But you're gonna have to wait to see it ;)
there's a really awesome out of bounds glitch you forgot,In Final Rush you can skip the whole level by messing with the gravity a bit
Classic game, but it really is buggy as all hell. Speed runners in particular have really broken this game down, some of the stuff they've proven possible is insane. I especially enjoy the "fall into the void of space for over a minute and end up falling on the goal ring" trick in the final level, whoever figured that out is a madman.

The only Sonic series I ever really played were Adventure 1 and 2, but they really are fucking great. The exploitable nature of the glitches is just a fun, unintentional second way to play the game.

Interesting video. I've done the chao key glitch and the super bounce glitch. They're really fun to do. Funny enough, I've done the hover boost glitch without even trying because of the dodgey input function when pressing the A button sometimes registers as two fast taps. I'll give that glitch a test drive later.
I've come across a glitch myself when entering and leaving the Chao Kindergarten causes the music to go more and more quiet and sometimes, if you skip the transition from the kindergarten at the right time, an image of the character you're using pops up on the screen and I don't know why. What do you think?

I just tried doing the Chao Key glitch with Knuckles in Wild Canyon in the Xbox 360 version of SA2 via backwards compatibly on my Xbox Series X and it didn't take me to the test stage. Could it be that the fast ssd's make it impossible for the game to take me to that unused test level with Knuckles or could it be that they patched the glitch in a update?

on city escape on the bridge before the last loop (the one where you run down the building) if you pick the object near the turbo pads and throw it before hiting the next one you will get the momentum without the animation

+Durpity Durp (Travis) The version I showed will work, but the amp other Chao Key Glitches still won't work as the wide-screen setting isn't the same as the one used in the PS3/ 360 versions!

"The annoying loop animations" They only last a few seconds Are you really that bothered by them? Also the point of the loops in the 3D games are to be short transitional parts will also giving spectacle but they are blown way out of proportion to make the game seem like It's playing itself
