Tom, great video. Thank you. The RT Sys menu programmer has several times saved my life. I experiment a lot with the digi modes and it is not uncommon for things to get screwed up. The ability to quickly re-load a saved menu config that you KNOW works fine has turned out to be an absolute Godsent and has saved me countless hours. I truly cannot recommend that program high enough. I sometimes just cange one of the colors on the screen so I can be sure that the change(s) took hold. Thanks for yet another excellent video Tom. Yeasu for sure brought out a winnner with FT991(A) Albert. EI7II.

I ordered mine from dx early part of nov been a roller coaster of dates arriving ... it finally on its way ! Supposed to be Dec 28 but with the weather we're having will see if on time.. love Tom's video... kinda been a good Bible to follow....Hopefully you will be able to get yours soon enough..
I am trying to set up a simplex frequency on my 991A that will include a PL code for both transmit and receive and I cannot tell where I set up the receive portion I only see a place for the transmit PL code.

Is there a way using the RT Systems software to backup ALL of the settings in the Yaesu FT-991A ? For example let's say you have all the settings programmed in for FT8 I would like to be able to save ALL settings to a backup config file. Or let's say that I have all of the settings for VARA HF and I want to save ALL settings to to a config file ? Is this achievable using the RT Systems software or is there another software title that I can use to backup all settings on the FT-991A.

The first is the "FT-991A Programmer" which is the standard program we're all used to. The other is the "FT-991A Menu Editor" which has a listing of every menu item, organized by function (not item number). You can read and write from/to your rig and save your settings. In a (dot)991AM file, so you can set your rig once and recover it if needed. You can make changes on your rig and save it to your computer and vice-versa. Hope this helps, Tom, ND3N

You know all those billion, trillion, gazillion menus and sub menus do not make this a better radio. There are many, many, many non SDR radios that could probably out perform modern SDR radios........
I guess with increased technology comes increased control over that tech…. Can you imagine the first fully IA rig…. Just turn it on, and it will make perfect contacts in all modes, while you can sit back and drink margaritas…. Just check your log every so often…
