@AngelKlavir I didn't have a problem with crosses, I would only throw hooks with my forward hand because I assumed jabs wouldn't do any damage. I was mostly a street fighter so everything was a power swing.

A trick I use that always hits is: do a left hook and let him block it. While retracting your left hook back, stop midway and change it to a hard push jab.

@@ra6160 Yeah, it creates a confusion for the opponent.
When retracting your left jab, your opponent thinks your right hand is coming, maybe an uppercut or you're going back to defending. It opens up their defence a bit.
And you're pulling only 50% back, not fully. So your jab will be there instant.
So he drops his guard a bit and you're still very close with your left hand towards his. It connects instant to his face with the jab.
You can also do a feint backward step with it, let him think in that split second you're backing off. And then out of nowhere your retracting left hook becomes a jab.
Once your jab or it's called a cross, once it connects use it to place your uppercut. Create the opening with it and make a path for the right uppercut.

I trained Kyokushin Kai for a while, something I always kept a mental note of during spars was: don't watch their legs for the most part, the only time you should take their legs into account is if their knee raises at least halfway up the length of their thigh, since most people keep on the balls of their foot to preserve energy and keep a considerable amount of explosive energy and effectiveness, they aren't going to be worried about raising their legs much for any other reason than kicking

If you look at russian boxing the move in figures of 8, against most amateurs this is a good way to confuse them with regular movements and it takes a lot less energy than it looks like it does.
then when you enter the bottom of one of the loops in orthodox stance with your weight on your rear leg throw a right hook from your guard into whatever is on line, even telegraph it a little so they can block, use the momentum and pushing off them then pivot on your right foot (you want to kind of kick the ground like your going backwards on an office chair) and almost switch stance and throw a quasi but slightly tight overhand right to the temple. The good thing about this is after the 2nd or 3rd time theyll start blocking it but you can go from that starting body punch do the exact same pivot but into a rear left uppercut and reverse the pivot into a stiff jab to the solar plexus and be directly in line for a devestating straight right going into the nose. This only really works on an opponent for a couple sessions before they just start hammering liver shots any time you move near them but that opens them up to more fuckery like swinging a massive overhand right and covering your liver with your left hand and just propelling yourself into their jaw.

A high IQ nullifier is as soon as he steps back you step forward with a double-jab. One thing is certain, he's going to reset, and there is a possibility of stumbling him because you can catch him off his feet lunging forward (balance shot). That's if your first jab misses, your second Jab is sure to catch him.
