I currently have an MCD RR5 ultimate buggy. Have not been racing it much lately though as there is not many people that race 1/5 in the south island of New Zealand so will hopefully be coming over to Australia to race at some point so might get to meet you guys when the borders open up and we can get over there.
That would be awesome, the RR5 would fall into the 4WD EFRA class. It has a very big following in Australia 🇦🇺 👊 Where about’s in the Sth Island are you based?

Nice one guys, I race an mcd rr5 max pro in the uk, I use a standard zenoah 26 and it is perfect for the platform, on a 29 that's gonna be insane.
Really like this truck can't go wrong with the price and upgraded parts it's a win win situation thinking of buying one 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪

Greetings from Southern California! I just dusted off my HPI Baja 5 T box and started bashing around. Now I’m itching for a 1/5 scale. It’s either an MCD W5 max pro or a Losi 5ive T. First world problems!

As soon as the Losi 5T 2.0 (mid July) is back in stock, I'll be ordering one. It will be my first 1/5 scale. I'm not getting it to race, just getting it for fun. Will make my current 1/6 scale Super Baja Rey look small, but it will be a nice addition to my collection. Right now all I'm interested in getting for it is the kill switch. I forget what brand seems to be the best one currently, I've got to look it up again. Killer Bee I think it was. Do you guys have any other suggestions of what I NEED to get or what I should get as well?
Hey matey, congratulations on getting a 5iveT 2.0. They are awesome to bash around straight from the box. Definitely a Killer RC Killer Bee killswitch is highly recommended and maybe a tuned pipe to help it move along but still capable out of the box. Enjoy buddy 🤘

Will be more like 14.5kg once built up. MCD quote 14.5-14.9kg for the Pro Version. Still lighter than the Losi, but not as light as expected in the video. A G320RC motor weights 2.3kg for example, not the estimated 1.2kg

From what I hear Cardinal Racing does an awesome job, it will be a matter of time before the US gets a Distributor. I’d say we just need to spread the word more that there are options out there in the Short Course class 🤘

That's either not the ultimate model or they updated it since you bought this because the Ultimate now comes with full billet alloy suspension. The front and rear a-arms and all of the links are all billet aluminum.

Nearly caught up with me no, I noticed on Frank your steering turnbuckle on the inside should be under the servo arm to stop any drag when turning.
I was looking to buy the MCD and race but money to tight since lockdown, I raced the FG Marder 2wd class and in the 4x4 class I ran the MCD with the Chevy Baja 1000 Trophy Truck body and rear also on road in the Outlaw class with the rear wing added and usually alloy rims and slicks or wet's it was ace in both class's but did have CVD issues on the front hubs always had to carry spare shafts especially when on road not so much when offroad go figure, the MCD back then was the only 4x4 option ditto with the FG Marder no real competition for them back then, I also still have it and a short chassis for it when on tight tracks I have enough spare's to build a Monster truck down to the wheels, really wish I had bought the W5 Max last year when I had the chance but hopefully if I sell my DBXL and HPI Baja 5B tsk-b then maybe I will do a build then ready to race in 2021so will be interested in what motor and servo's carb etc we have to run upto 30cc I think I will run a BZM 28:5cc TT motor as I have one sitting on the shelf not quite run in so a good starting point.

i think ur wrong about mcd bring cheaper than losi, it starts getting expensive when ur buying spare parts, like those big bore shocks, its an upgrade but ur paying 700-800 ozzy dollars for 2 so 1600 dollars just for shocks, but its quality gear, i have a rr5 so i know spares are expensive, im pulling the 26 out and putting in an alx71
