Sanctuary were a classy band. Saw them once in Hamburg back in 1990 when they were supporting Fates Warning. Stood right in front of the stage. It was a fantastic gig. R.I.P. Warrel Dane.
saw the same show in Albuquerque, blew my mind
@thucks And a certified chef! He and Jim Sheppard founded a restaurant in Seattle.
Same lineup in Athens, Greece too...
But Fates Warning was already without John Arch, right? Too bad. Two great vocals would play at the same scene
@@RossoNero1987 Yes, Ray Alder was singer.
Blessed are those who were at a Sanctuary Concert!!
The audio is outstanding, what a treasure!!
The first drum beat and guitar sound was awesome
Yessir
RIP WARREL DANE !!
I wish that Epic records would release the whole live album Into The Mirror Black Live/ Black Reflections. The EP is awesome but hard to find and I have read somewhere that Warrel Dane said he had the Master Tapes of the show and that he would release it but it never happened. Whoever has access to the master tapes should release it as a tribute to Warrel. I know most Warrel Dane fans would definitely get it including me.
It is released now on the anniversary edition released a year ago
The best cover of this song ever!
Agreed. Might want to check out the band Waysted doing Jefferson Airplanes somebody to love
@@foreverunsaved6661they do an amazing job on Handbag and Gladrags..I’d say they did better job than Stereophonics
This is possibly the best live performance I’ve heard
Warrel Dane used to sing in his best way in the Refuge Denied era...
This song just keeps giving , hypnotic 🍄
AWESOME! Warrel, the unforgettable voice in metal history. RIP God!
Great version of a timeless gem of a song. EPIC WARREL, sinister
Goosebumps....RIP :(
This guy vocals,man!!!
I first heard this band back in87 I could not stop listening to this album over and over and over again for like six months awesome shit man.
Do they still give you the same "wow" factor?
Heard that, I was 17 in 87 and we drove a lot of miles in my 72 monte carlo jamming to refuge denied, high as fuck and drinking and driving fucking with people. People thought we we nuts, we were, lol 🤟🤣 rip Warrel , you were bad ass 🙏
Every time zach🤟
I'm curious: what took the place of that album in the stereo?
@@JudasSlays2426 . It was a cassette, but metallica
Sanctuary not only had some awsome music but I have never heard anyone sing like Warrel does. He can hit notes with his voice that I never heard anyone else hit.
Listen to Ripper Owens. His first band. I know a lot of ppl don't respect him enough. Knowing now what I know, we haven't been respecting that man NEARLY ENOUGH.
he reminds me of King Diamond and Rob Halford
@mattnelson2921 winters bane is sick bro. Heart of a killer is their best album and ripper hits some insane notes
@@HighOnFire1997 MY DUDE!!! You Already KNOW how INSANE that album is!!! Ripper is at his absolute peak on vocals (He still Rips too dude, back when he joined Priest, back then I absolutely HATED him. Bro, his literal Vocal Wizardry, over the JP years/fresh into Iced Earth, THOSE years of his absolutely AMAZING Range, Pitch, top of Topps High Octave Screams, and literal Vocal perfection, I heard him and heard him and heard him, his excellence Beat me to my knees and I went from hatred, to mass respect, to absolute love of his vocal abilities. Hes top 5-maybe top 7 at lowest, greatest metal Vocalist of All Time!! )When I FIRST heard Winter's Bane's very first Demo (1990 or 1991 3 song demo tape) I was instantly hooked. Then I next hear Wages Of Sin, then listened to Heart of A Killer in it's entirety and was mind blown by Rippers insane level of octaves he reaches on that album. He hits a level HIGHER than ever previously heard!!
HOAK is a Metal Masterpiece !! What a BANGER of an Concept Album. The entire concept, in and of itself, is one of greatest concepts EVER...
It makes my day, hearing someone like YOU, a Metal Friend, who absolutely UNDERSTANDS the greatness that is Ripper Owens and Heart Of A Killer!!
P.s. I HIGHLY recommend, if you Haven't heard it yet, Go listen to Ripper - Return To Death Row (Name of his newest album and the name of the song I NEED you to hear) Bro, I heard this, and my mind is RE BLOWN!! This is some of the heaviest metal Ripper has ever been a part of!!!
@@HighOnFire1997 also, BRO!!! I seen High On Fire like 10 years ago. They were touring with Death Angel, Exodus, and Testament. One of the absolute greatest metal shows I've ever been to!! I've really liked HOF since back when I was in High School (2002-2003, I graduated in 2005). Their first song I ever heard? DEVOLUTION!! Still love that song and album.. they were killer live. Vocalist sounds dead on his work on the album. Hell man, Death Angel opened that show, I was blown the hell away by how EXCELLENT THEY ARE LIVE! I wasn't expecting the 10/10 performance and setlist they opened with. That was the band I was most impressed with and it wasn't even close! Don't get me wrong, HOF were heavy as heavy gets dude, sheer brutality and I loved them. Exodus were also pretty great man. Testament, I've seen 3 times. They have to be the MOST FUCKING BRUTAL metal band I've ever seen live. It's just at 2 levels higher than what anyone could pictured mentally, without having physically seen them perform live. Gene Hoglan's (double) bass drum, omfg!! Literally he is banging a few skins seconds before the rest of Testament walks out, that bass drum is like a battering ram into and through your damn chest. No jokes. The absolute loudest and heaviest bass drum I've EVER HEARD at any concert, and I've been to many metal shows.. by the end of that concert, I was literally drained of all energy, and the sheer brutality demolished any remaining energy left, literally making the little energy left turn right into an electron charged type of dust that comes from you and just flows in the air. Testament is so loud and heavy live, it's great and daunting at the same time. HOF was 2nd in live brutality of heaviness and also were pretty good live! Those 2 alone, in 1 show together, is enough heaviness and brutality for you to be good to go, and feel like you easily got your money's worth of Metal. Exodus, were also impressive. 1st time ever seeing them live, seen them perform several times over on live recordings on CZcams, DVDs, etc.... The best I ever recall them sounding live, and the vocalist was on damn point with sounding perfect live. Wall Of Death right before their final song, Strike Of The Beast. Then Testament was headliner
Is High On Fire still alive and kicking, still making albums n such?? Stupid question, but I haven't heard anything of theirs in a good 8 years or more...
Thank you Warrel. Have a great travel.
sou um preto roqueiro ! desde os 16 anos !
that Voice .... Warrel was in such a "good shape" back in these days. Holy shit

when warrel used to be the greatest singer....
i loved.
first time I see that on the internet. I had a CD from the 1990's and that CD was the only thing I had to listen to that exact version of that song. so thank you a lot. oh, I'm from Brazil. and the CD I had was a promotional one, something like "into the mirror: 'black reflections" :D
Watched these at my first ever concert at Hammersmith odeon in London, supporting Megadeth.
He can still sign like that. He had years of Opera training.
One of the best covers of all fucking time
Thanks you for making this video it is a great tribute to Warrel
Profound
Saw them on Halloween night with Megadeath .
Best night of my life
Cool remake
Nothing beats the original. The video from Woodstock gives me chills its so good.
RIP BROTHER...
I first saw them do this song live at a Sanctuary/Fates Warning show in, oh damn, it must have been 1990, 1991 or so. Never heard them before that but became a fan right away.
Lucky I was in control.
very cool, just an awesome song.
@wwibbelt Dave Mustaine produced the album and played in the studio, but never live with the band, unfortunately.
Awesome!
Glad I was able to see them live.
Great music and video quality!

Sounds like the audio from into the mirror live, unless this is the actual video which is BADASS
Las locuras de la voz me recuerdan a bandas como Tourniquet, que cantante versátil.

Just announced today - Sanctuary has reformed to record a new album \m/ \m/
what a shame we don´t have many videos of sactuary with D.WARREN ON VOCALSfor me he is one of the few singers who are blessed with a huge talent ,,a very powerfull vocal range a melodic tone at the same time,,
Yes
No dislikes? Nice.
Whoa, this is pretty epic
i went to see them at Penny Arcade in 96
@Emannikcufesin

fuckin great band, the best at their time..
Mountlake at terry Amman's, 1985, singing Melissa,we remember you dane....
@nicole10251971,not really. Jeff joined Sanctuary and toured with them. then Lenny, the original guitarist wanted to play grunge,'cause it started to become really trendy. Warrel didn't want to,and he,Jeff and Jim formed Nevermore.
Fucking awesome FOREVER !!! Hailz !!! \M/
