Let’s remember that this dude should be moving hell of a lot less on this system then he did on GSW. Adding that bit of gas he saves could potentially help him on the other end.
Exactly. Our defense isn't built on one on one play like Boston's was. We have more of a team defense than they do obviously because they have a lot of great individual defenders.

Especially that when you are actually allowed to guard him or double him, he is terrible decision maker. Lively played him well. I wish Luka could get the foul calls wemby gets, not the quantity but the quality of foul calls. Ofcourse Luka has ball way more

Mavs bucks in finals
They’ve been using hardy out of position because of the lac of ball handlers. This year wit the trading of hardaway and the addition of Spence, I think he’ll play more 2 this year and go off

with Klay and Naji, it will be about matchups, the season is long. Klay is the better scorer and passer, Naji is much better defensively, Naji has a high ceiling in this team.

So what, they were using him in ways he’d never be used playing with Luka, or Kai. He doesn’t need to be bringing the ball up or running plays to be a good role player on this squad.
They added Klay Naji & Grimes. All amazing 3poimt shooters and defenders even though klay has slightly digressed but still great roster and one of the deepest bench ITL. Also spence, great ball handler and can create shots and clutch and was a huge part of that 2022 WCF run. Also a 7’5 defensive stopper. They were just a few pieces away from beating Boston and I think they’ll be able to this time with hopefully a HEALTHY Luka and Kyrie getting over the hump. Whoever they met, I think they will beat. They should be the favorites, no doubt💯💯
The odds are not in Mav's favor. They beat the odds and made it last year. As the projected 6th seed (again), they have a .00001% of catching lightning in a bottle 2 years in a row. Keep dreaming (espn)
That’s a sad sad perspective. They won 50 games, that’s a 2nd or 3rd seed in the East and with Kai and Dlive missing significant time during the toughest part of their schedule. That was a 55 win team easy with normal injuries. You’re not actually able to put odds on that. Not to mention your assuming a better team will still be a 6 seed when most odds makers are giving them a top 4 seed at 51-55 wins. So nothing you wrote makes any sense in the real world with real world nuances.

Mavs made more moves than okc. Plus we beat okc any playoffs moving forward. Mavs let sga cook shoot and refused to double. So We picked our poison and it didn't kill us dead. Okc will go to him in the next playoff against mavs guaranteed.

Lively, Gafford, and PJ gotta all get better. If the frontcourt makes that leap, Mavs will be great. If not, they will be a play-in team. Luka and Ky are great but they probably won't play together for 50 games. They gotta get frontcourt production and it will have to come from those three. They will go as far as those guys take them.

I think people forget just how young most of the Mavs are.
Luka, PJ, Grimes, Marshall, and Gafford are all 25-27 years old. Then you have Lively, Hardy and O-Max, who are in the 20-25 age range.
That is over half of our roster, and other than O-Max, all of them are expected to play significant minutes this year.
Kyrie is gonna go down as the most efficient Guard if he continues averaging 50 40 90 like this ...Klay can do the same.... and luka made Westbrooks first MVP look like chump... the load was too much but this year he's gonna be fit because he's resting which is the first in a long time so yeah boi he's gonna want to destroy everybody

Brother do you even watch basketball? This is the most casual take I’ve seen. The mavs literally had the best defense the last couple months after adding pj and Gafford. Djj wasn’t actually the main reason for them being a good D. If you actually look at djj’s minutes he wasn’t even averaging 30+. Regardless they added good defenders in grimes and Marshall. And improved the offense with klay and Dinwiddie creating shots. If they stay healthy, the mavs will be a top 3 seed 54+ wins.
