  • Millstreet in Cork is the setting for the Annual Spring Horse Fair.
    In 1965 the town of Millstreet in north County Cork came to a standstill for the Annual Spring Horse Fair.
    The Fair is not only a time for bargaining and dealing. It is also a social occasion that continues to attract the crowds, young and old, to the town.
    A ‘Newsbeat’ report broadcast on 12 April 1965.

    My Great Grandfather Jeremiah Geran was from Ballydaly near Millstreet b1860 his father was Patrick Geran. It's a great place.

    How times have changed!! My grandfather told me about his mother buying a donkey and cart at the Lammas Fair in Ballycastle for £1!!! She rode it home. These videos are brilliant, before my time and its great to be able to see how it was. 👏🏻👏🏻❤🐎

      @@marykategraham.205 I seem to see you on all the right channel's , as a man of today, I have to say, where are all good Men gone. They have lost their word, they turned their back on God , they sold their country, they went down on their knee for the wrong reason. And now they take a jab because their told. I am a shamed . Because my dog has more ball's than 95 percent of men in Ireland today. Lady take care and maybe in the near future you might see them in arms. What is left of them.
