After 36 years flying helicopters, watching Cat's flying skill and excitement, I just wanted to give her a job. What a refreshing video. Misha great job getting the best out of your students you need to be commended.

remember my first solo. This video is a great example of if you put your mind to something and you really want it, you can make it happen. Always believe in yourself because the second you stop your at risk of loosing it all.

I must be an old softy. I got emotional seeing the pure joy and excitement Cat expressed. Soooooooo cute!!! Misha you are a fine instructor and human being as well! I love how calm and positive you are with your students even when correcting them. You indeed should be commended!!!Keeping students calm in situations that can be intimidating to them, and where panic and frustration can be deadly is an art. Now I must go dry my eyes.
This was so awesome! I actually teared up at her excitement, and when she says "shouldn't I be scared... the Lord is helping me", I said Amen! This is my favorite video! Congratulations Cat, thank you for sharing!

I felt exactly the same when I solo ed my ultralight.....pretty lonely up there and really quiet later on when the engine failed.......REALLY Quiet.....
I remember mine. It was in a R22. It felt so light and off-balance. So wholesome to see Cat and go back to those feelings after 15 years.

Brilliant The worlds best felling i remember my first R22 solo the shock of lifting early being lighter and difference in hanging skid. I’ve been watching Pilot Yellow for years. This solo was great. Can’t wait till I get to take more rotary lessons- hopefully with Mischa. . Don’t care for R22 nor Schweitzer. Love Cabri and R44. Very happy for you Cat! You're very smooth. Was pretty cool how Mischa didn't really give you a heads-up that he was going to hop out. It didn't give you anytime to get anxious about it. I also especially liked when you and Mischa were landing on logging pads. I'm kicking myself for not doing this when I was your age. I loved your comment about having God on your side👍🙏. Your Dad will be very proud too. You're right.. I'll bet you didn't sleep that night till maybe morning after excited exhaustion prevailed. May God and your good judgement always keep you safe.🙏❤️

Will always remember my first solo (Cub) the instructor telling me now I want 3 touch and go but I will be watching from the ground and he walked out.

I think every pilot eventually has their, "yeah, this is what I'm meant to do" moment at some point in their training. Its so cool to be able see someone experience that moment.
Mine was also on a river (also in an Orange Robinson), and my instructor and I helped rescue some people who beached their boat.
