    Great overview of my home mountain! One thing I would note regarding the extreme terrain is to please be a truly advanced skier and know where you are going! These runs can be much more difficult than what you typically find at other CO rmountains. There are several spots where the terrain can suddenly get much steeper or even cliff out without much warning. Take the signs patrol puts up seriously and be very aware of your location on the mountain.

    I skied High Nowhere and Third bowl today and OMG you are not lying. I'm a pretty advanced skier but that was truly crazy. My skis got a little roughed up for sure.

    Such a good mountain, i snowboarded there last February and did the treacherous hike back out of teocali bowl, had some of my most fun runs in the woods directly left and right of Rambo and the basically untouched powder at the bottom of rambo had a sweet jump i must have hit at least 5 times. Rode 4 days, walked alot on this so called "skiers mountain" and gatdamn i miss those tbars. So sick

    Could’ve mentioned Rambo! It’s the steepest continuous run in the U.S or something along those lines

      Too much long, steep terrain to talk about every single run. Thanks for mentioning that though

      I've never skied East Coast, so I can't do any for out east . . . yet. The ultimate dream is to create an Insider's Guide for every ski area on Earth, so don't be surprised if I start making some east coast Insider's Guides within the next season or two.

    feels like you spend 10x more on lower mountain greens and blues than the expert terrain which this place is known for

      Originally, I had a collaborator to handle the expert terrain for CB, but he bailed, and I'm just not that well-versed in their expert terrain so I had to abridge it a bit

    Why would going fast make ice less of an issue?

    • @SRGSkiing
      @SRGSkiing  Před rokem +2

      To go faster, you make less sharp of turns. The less sharp of a turn you make, the less chance you have to truly catch and slide. Think of it this way: if you hit the ice straight on, it generally has no effect. If you hit ice sideways, then you're in trouble. When you're going faster you're generally pointed downhill more than when you're making big turns to go slower. When you're making those big turns, there's a point where you're nearly sideways, and it's at that point that if you hit ice it becomes a hazard.

      @@SRGSkiing The problem for me when I was snowboarding International was that I couldn't use my edges to control my speed. My board slipped out from under me on the ice so I lifted my board up and slid on my belly for probably 400 yards like I was on a steep waterslide. Sliding is fun, but trying to snowboard and not being able to get any stopping power even when your board is perpendicular to the mountain is irritating.

      @@LoganKing4 I haven't tried snowboarding, so I didn't know all that. My bad. I had just assumed that it would be pretty similar

      @@SRGSkiing It's no problem bro, skiers have twice as much edge as boarders so that works in their favor, and it was really icy when I went. Keep up the good videos, I watched a couple and just subbed today.
