Chiang Rai is definitely on our Thailand wish list. I’ve seen the White Temple in many CZcams videos and you’re right, this was definitely a different view. I love that you two always give a different perspective to well traveled areas.
That village though! Did you call them homesteads? Is that like Airbnb here in the states? Restaurants all over is a good sign 😂 we loves us some food!

Aww, thanks 😍😍 And yeah, they call them. homestays but they are basically either AirBnb (which is massive here too!!) or rooms for people to stay. Since it's in the mountains there are many options for camping (you can rent tents and they provide all sleeping bags/etc) and little globe style huts for you to stay. And yes, food EVERYWHERE 🤣
As for the coins...we did! I, Will, was able to throw the coin directly into the lotus flower below in the water while Jose...well, A for effort 🤣.

Great video guys! I was at Wat Rong Khun in 2018 and spent a couple hours there as well, just wandering around, taking photos and admiring the artwork. I especially loved the crazy masks in the back. As always, I love your drone work! Great job, can't wait for the next one!
We had no idea the grounds of Wat Rong Khun were so massive 😱. The gold temple that houses the Hindu relics/souvenir shop was breathtaking as well! And thank you so much Eddie! ❤️

I wish I can have a chance to visit Chiang Rai this year. Never been there before. Was visiting Bangkok the past 10 years, hardly go to the north as most of my friends prefer the city vibes in Thailand. I don't care, if no one came with me, I will have a solo trip by myself. On my first visit to Wat Rong Khun it _was_ in the middle of nowhere, and there was no charge - just donations. On returning a few years later the first set of shops had been built, and a small charge was made. Last time we visited, we didn't bother seven stopping. It was just too crowded and the commercialisation meant we preferred to drive on revisit the temple at Doi Tung.
Ohhhh, that's so interesting 😱. So it was in the middle of nowhere! It has that feeling as if it should be surrounded by nothing but green and land but to see it in the middle of the town with busy street to one side and shops EVERYWHERE it threw us off 🤣. Still absolutely beautiful and we loved every moment of it. We got there when they opened and they already had 5 tour buses full of people pulling up to go so I can't even imagine the foot traffic they get on weekends 😱. Thanks for this, we love insights like this!

And yes, everyone talks about the White Temple but the truth is, the Blue Temple is absolutely just as breathtaking while not as grand in stature or grounds size. The absolute detail in everything constructed there (and all of Thailand for that matter) is out of this world! Thanks for watching Ann ❤️
I agree about seeing the entirety of temple complexes, that's why it takes me ages to see one temple alone 🤣 These two temples in Chiang Rai are so elaborate and well-designed. I loved the hands along the bridge going into the temple. When I went though it was before the pandemic, so the tour company told us not to backtrack along the bridge, just to move along. I wish I had had more time...
You are us alike Antonella haha. We walk in thinking an hour tops and leave 2 or 3 hours later. You just can't rush these temples because the true beauty is in the details and that's only seen up close! - and agreed...the hand along the bridge are out of this world incredible 😱. Sorry you didn't have time to really take it all in but but but it sounds like you were able to appreciate the true beauty of it and that's what matters ❤️🤗. Who knows maybe you will go again someday soon!!!!
