I mean no offense, Im just another word nerd who also agrees dad was right, but It's whiz. It's also not shortened from wizard, its an onomatopoeia for the sound something makes when moving very fast, like a bullet. That eventually evolved into a slang term for someone quick or adept at something.
Single dad here, me and my son love watching your videos. We have made a habit of watching them Sunday night before we go to bed. He is 6 years old and absolutely loves your father’s cooking. Thank you so much for sharing 👏 🙌
as someone who lost his father last year, i have to say the beauty of your father-son relationship brought a tear to my eye. absolutely precious how you have so much fun together sharing food and laughter. love this video and can't wait for more.
Fantastic video! Love the moment when you both realized something was off. I think that shows you legitimately love your dad's cooking and know when things aren't right with it, and you aren't gonna hide it just because you are on camera.
My dad and I cook together, he taught me a lot about cooking and all of his recipes and they are some of my favourite memories I have with him. Seeing you and your dad dedicating pretty much a whole CZcams channel to sharing both of your love for food and each other really warms my heart.
8:21 LMAOOO! I love him, man. He is so good at cooking and really has nothing else to prove to anyone, so if he facks up, he literally doesn't care lol
LMAO at listing the parsley as "picked" in the ingredients graphic... also, as an Asian mom, I felt super validated by the little plastic container Chef Lee put the butter logs into... love this video so much, thank you from BC!
From previously only having seen him on TV, I really adore and appreciate him so much more as his down-to-earth self. Still in the same awe I've always been watching him on TV, but I love him so much more now seeing this side of him! Thanks for sharing this entertaining knowledge with us 🤗
Sick in bed this week, and iv'e just been binging all your videos today :) i love this channel, the dynamic between you and your dad is so great. Both wholesome, kind people with great energy. I really enjoy how Susur explains in detail how each ingredient adds to the dish with his expert knowledge. One of my favorite food channels on youtube now
Susur is still the best Chef in Canada! I have known his cooking and been a big fan since his apprentice days at The Peninsula and then when he came to Canada and opened Lotus.
I was wondering if perhaps we could a tutorial series on kitchen gadgets and small appliances like which air fryers are better than others, knife sets, etc. As a very late bloomer to cooking (50 something), I know I can’t be alone when it comes to investing in products that are worth it as opposed to products that start out terrific and end up on the curb.
This time, I have something to say other than, "This all seems admirably nice and competent." One of my standard recipes consists of mushroom caps filled with something very like Mother Butter, baked at 350 until bubbling. Try it! My sister asked me to make this for her wedding and the caterers ate it in the kitchen.
Thank you SO much!!! I can't wait to make all of these, especially the tofu and egg drop soup. I've been obsessed with tofu lately. Super grateful for you. 🙏 Thank you!!!
I would love it if you would make this recipe gourmet. Fried Apples 1 apple per person cored, peeled, and cubed. Harder apples like granny smith apples work best, but use any apple you like. 1 tablespoon of butter per apple 1 teaspoon of brown sugar per apple 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon per apple A splash of brandy is optional Melt butter over medium heat Add cinnamon and brown sugar Add apples Add brandy Fry apples until tender. Serve over ice cream, drizzling sauce over top
Oh my goodness! I tried the tofu dish and it’s delicious! 😍 I personally don’t enjoy the texture of soft tofu, so I used extra firm, cut some cross-sections and put it in the microwave to warm it up, then topped with the sauce. I didn’t have black vinegar so I used 1.5 tbsp of balsamic vinegar instead. I will definitely be making this again. This sauce must be good on rice and dumplings, even marinated eggs also. It’s tangy, sweet, salty, nutty, a bit spicy, crunchy. Just beautiful! Thanks so much for these recipes Chef!
I love the second recipe! It's like you turned tofu into burrata🤤 The use of vinegar is similar when I make burrata. I chop red onion instead of spring onion. The main difference: I pour all that wine in my glass🍷 Tofu is lower calorie and higher protein than super soft cheese, plus it has that anti-aging characteristic😉
Cool addition to your regular post like recipe dads way - my kind of cooking and the butter and egg soup were excellent - added ramen noodles to soup and I baked tofu then added sauce with shrimp that was the bomb!! ✊🏽 thank you keep posting 🫰🏽
Compound butter is a great thing to experiment with. Recently, I made some to go with some steak and my friend really liked it. All of those dishes look great. Cheers!👍🏻👍🏻✌️🇨🇦
Thanks for the dishes. I'm really interested in making the Tofu one. I'm trying to introduce my family to foods I never would have tried before, and simple recipes like this help take away the fear of making them.
Ty Susur. The 1st reaction of the tofu tasting was priceless. 😅 The tofu recipe appealed to me, but I would use medium firm cubed tofu & fry it crispy instead. However, I think the way u made it would pair well w/ a quinoa salad. I'm backing off the parmesan a bit since it's getting real pricey. But if I do use it, I will make it in a dish where it really shines, like in a Caesar salad. Agape 💙
Man I appreciate you and your father's video. Great recipes. I am gonna try the last recipe first. Have a great day. Greetings from Santa Maria California.
Parmisan cooked until dry & crispy, usually in disks or wafers, is actually an edible decoration for a ton of dishes. I sometimes shape it into little cups and i use those to serve little salads in
I’ve never seen that “baked on a buttery flakey crust” before. I laughed so hard. Rewinded. Watched it again. Kept laughing. Searched for where it came from. Laughed so hard I have tears in my eyes 😂
Great video and recipes. I make the tofu recipe all the time. I can’t wait to try the last recipe. I’m a little nervous to make an egg soup with cheese but I’m going to try it because Susur told me to!
This might be the best video yet, please make this a series
100%… pretty please. 👍
I'm signing this petition! 🤘😎
Absolutely! 💯 Yes, please
YESl!
seconded.
Jet your dad was right that time. Lol “Wiz” is also used to refer to someone who is really good at something. “She’s a wiz at biology.” 🤓
Yes, but "Wiz" in that context is short for "Wizard."
@@0dysseus42 yes. But he told his dad he was wrong for saying “wiz.” He wasn’t.
wiz kid
Is that the Son's Name? I love it. It fits him❤

When Iron Chef Dad pulled the buttered bread out of the air fryer, I melted!
cheaper than only fans 😂

best cooking channel on youtube, no bs no crazy editing no flexing expensive kitchen machines, just skills and love for food

Classics.
The mother butter garlic bread....when it came out of the air fryer!!!!!! omg. Stir, stir, stir. ❤❤❤❤ Iron Chef Dad!
This video went by so fast, just shows how entertaining Lee is.
“Don’t be shy with the butter” yes chef 🫡
Your dad was actually right. Wiz does mean someone smart.
wiz is wizard

I love you both. Your humor and love for one another is just so beautiful. Please keep making these videos.
Iron chef dad is a wiz at improvising. That’s a genuine chef, one that can admit the missing sauce even after he’s finished cooking.

Blue sky white cloud - Iron Chef's descriptions are the best.
Please show us him making the dogs dinners one of these days. Cheers.

I kinda like this idea of videos. These three recipes are simple, and pretty unique. I like the soup one the best. Keep them coming!
“You hear the sound of beauty?” I just love him!!! ❤😅
Definitely a great new series idea. Or even have yourself cook the mess or a meal that he recommends
I make a similar butter, but with the addition of Dijon mustard for tang instead of lemon juice. This looks great, chef.
I would love more videos like this! Everything looks great and so flavorful

Susur Lee is a national treasure.
We need more videos!! I love following you guys!!
Haha I love your Dads humour, I try to do the same with my kids.
Would love more of these kinds of vids. Don't need the measurements, but just watching him cook "regular" dishes is really great.
This video is very cool , perhaps you guys could make one but with sauce's and what dish to eat with them or if you could make a universal sauce.
When he said "smush everything down" i was waiting for a "smush, smush, smush" 😂😂
It all looks good!!! Thank you!
Love it! Make this a series please

Made the third one, its really good, you can also make ramen first and use the left over chicken soup to make it 😋
