  • Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a super clean 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury. The Sport Fury was Plymouth's top of line the offering for 1963. With several engines and transmissions available, as well as many options, almost no two are alike. This particular example sports what is believed to be the original 361 CID V8 with a two barrel carburetor which Plymouth rated at 265 HP. Behind the 361 is a rare Push Button Torqueflite automatic transmission. Imagine the thought of selecting your gear with the simple push of a button; this was impressive technology in 1963. Couple this trick transmission with the full options list, and this is one nice Sport Fury. It has full instrumentation, power steering, power brakes, Air Conditioning, and even power windows! This was a car for someone special in 1963. It sports a classy white exterior with a contrasting white/red two tone interior. Bucket seats, a center console, and enough ash trays for the whole family let you know this was a luxury car to rival the Cadillacs and Lincolns of the day. Here's a chance to own a little piece of Mopar history. You can see this super cool 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury in greater detail in our Chicago showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. In High School I had a 63 Sport Fury with a 361 engine. Great car. I was given a 383 engine which I rebuilt and replaced the 361. The 361 was faster off the line and in the short race. The 383 would go really fast on the freeway. Had it up to about 150 mph and still had more room. Unfortunately I totaled it in 1971. I now have another one I am in the process of restoring. It has a 318 engine which is fast enough for me these days.

This is without a doubt one of the top most stately, well designed Chrysler products ever.

I had a '63 with a 318. Only car I ever owned that felt more stable at high speed. Over 100 it felt like it squatted down a little and handled firmly. Great car!
