    Love the Peavey Classic 50 in either config; built like a tank and has a tone that I love much more than Fender amps. This is the best amp demo that I've heard in a long time. So many crank an amp to the max and rave how good it sounds; they never show the full scope of what the amp can do. This demo vid does that very well - thank you

    Holy wow man ... great player and amp here ! I still have my mint condition all original , tubes and all , 90's Classic 50 head . It kicks the butt of all the Marshalls I've had ( DSL , JCM's etc ) With the C50 You get real nice Fender cleans with a great spring reverb .... and a roaring JCM800-900 superb gain channel . C50's .... awesome PV USA amps . I've had so many other makes , all kinds , this Peavey C50 head stays ... it has all the "mojo" power and tone I need and want .

    Nice and warm sound, but also clear tone. I've played the 30, but I'll bet the 50 watts and 2x12 configuration pushes more clean headroom and more air. Great chops as always. You never fail to impress, sir!

    Eminence, GSC< the green classic 30s, or classic series, there are probably 10 different speaker brands that people swear by. But, in the end of the day, it will be up to your ear to satisfy the tone that makes the amp a pride and joy adventure. What you will find, is that there are frequencies, slight variants in the resolution between the 200.00 speaker and the 14 dollar speaker, if you can find one that is capable of handling the amp...Say a 60 watt speaker, but the head room is the only real factor that will allow for you to be doing yourself the real benefit of changing out speakers. Head room is the key to great sounding amplification in the real world. You still have the frequency variations to consider because some amps have modified signal processing to deliver a certain range of tone filter caps and tone modifier caps at different stages of the amps circuitry. My point, is only this. What you hear out of the amp your playing now, and the GOOD speaker that people, knowledgeable people, not morons. There will be a tone difference or overdriven difference that brings the tone to a certain response. But, its either warmer, or colder, higher or lower range differences that will result in the fact, that with in the 30 minutes of playing your hearing will not be able to identify the difference in what it used to sound like and what it sounds like after the swap. So I say to you, do the effort and research the modified speakers of the world, You can listen to speakers all day long and still not be sure of a tone, pleasing and sparkly and all that you want it to be. You will hear another amp or another song or another guitar make a passage of tone that will make you wonder if you couldn't get THAT TONE to make your playing better.Its true, however, that cheap speakers do not sound as good as professional grade speakers and the fact that you can find many amps that carry the tone you enjoy the most, but within the reality of this, the set up of the other factors along with any amps speakers, will be how you set the eq, what you use to modify the tone and how you play the guitar....you know, the good guitarists have it all in their fingers the saying goes.This long winded response is the equal to just me saying, your ear wont lie to you and your experience has led to you what is likeable and what is not. So with that, the thing you sould focus on is the hearing of many different speakers, the fact that you want headroom for the best tone possible, and the cost range that satisfies your value system. The appearance could be a consideration factor but not too often, the name brand, also maybe a factor. And the acceptance of you in the ideas of what a real speaker is all way around.So take a few days, a few weeks or even a few months to listen to the differences on the you tube arena. There are plenty folks who give informative naratives about the different types and tones of speakers. Ultimately decide for the reasons that keep you happy. It may well be the recommendation of another tone junkie that brings you to the best speaker possible. After 50 or so years of listening to speakers, I have to read the differences about speakers, but, it only sounds a little better, or more consistent, or alittle louder/clearer. It never floors me to find one speaker against another. It is true that there are more expensive speakers that ultimately have a fuller range of tones, and that the cheaper speakers may sound more trebly than the GOOD expensive speaker. But, you just know the difference for a little while. The your accustomed to it. The last consideration of a good speaker is how long it lasts and holds up to the volume of sound loud or soft. and inbetween, that it may sound as good as it does. Its the wear in factor. As close as I can tell, the wear in factor is suppose to make the speaker sound better after it gets worn some. So with this 600 or so word speech about the different considerations you may experience. Enjoy your amp or what ever you listen to while using the speakers that make a difference,/better for you.

    If you have a Classic 50 that doesn't have an effects loop, it is a 1993 model - the only year they made it without the loop. Don't know which is heavier, my '66 Blackface Twin or the Classic 50 - both are real beasts to lift! Two words: "Furniture dolly!"

    Is this an original Classic 50 from the early 90's or the later style with the different looking cab front? I have the older version 2x12 but the original speakers have been changed out by a previous owner and replaced with an inferior set. It still sounds great at high volume but would really benefit from a new set of decent speakers to really get the best out of the tubes in this old girl. • @NikolayKarageorgiev
      @NikolayKarageorgiev  Před 9 lety +1

      Hi and thanks! The Hayden is an A class amp , 30 Watts, less clean headroom, great vintage overdrive (not good for modern metal sounds), loud enough for small gigs. Classic 50 has more clean headroom, the clean channel is kind of fenderish, but softer, the amp is louder (than the Hayden), the overdrive is also a vintage type, but more Fender like, also not good for metal without a boost in front, great for blues or rock. Very heavy, about 30 kg.
