    This kit repairs on pipe penetration up to 1" in diameter.
    Water can leak through a basement wall around the waterline. Leaks around water lines in concrete foundations are easily repaired from the inside. Hydra Stop 300 is injected into the space around the pipe and expands, sealing out water. Applied Technologies provides water sealing injection materials for the professional and DIY customer.

    I recently sealed up pass-throughs in my solid concrete basement wall (1” Cu water supply and 4” PVC sewer outlet) with their product. They responded to my pre-purchase email inquiries promptly.
    Their single waterline kits would likely seal the gap between a single 1” copper water supply and a 1.25”-1.5” diameter pass-through, standard basement thickness. If your pass-through diameter is larger you should order one extra tube of HydroStop 300 with your kit so you have enough.
    Their single waterline kit is not enough to seal between a single 4.5” sewer outlet and a 5” diameter pass-through, standard basement thickness. Plan to order two extra tubes of HydroStop 300 with your kit so you have enough.
    Personally I would rather order more than enough HydroStop 300 tubes and have extra left over. Not having enough would be a disaster to correct later on. If you have a combo job then you could do what they recommended to me. Order their 20’ foundation crack kit to ensure there are enough materials. The only downfall is you will not get the waterline kit instructions and it is not posted on their website. You will get the flexible extension tube that helps out if the pass-through is near the floor.
    My after-sale email inquiries went unanswered. So just figure you are on your own after that. Their currently provided caulk gun is improved and works fine. Current kits ship with PoxiPaste in separate jars instead of in a caulk tube, still works fine. Their PPE is okay but I rather use my own PPE since it fits me better. Most important just use some PPE! Also note that there will be an odor (fumes) so ventilation/respirator is work considering.

    Because of Lake's feedback, we have added to the written instructions, "Poxy Paste has a 5-10 minute potlife" to clarify this issue. Poxy Paste is the grey material you see in the video. It is important to mix small batches of Poxy Paste because if you mix too much, it will set up before you have a chance to put it on the wall. Be sure to screw the cap onto the static mixer or it will come off the cartridge of Hydra Stop 300. Thank you for the feedback, Lake.

    how does a sealed area allow more material to be injected? This seems to be an inordinate amount of labor over and above what could be done with a hole prepped with a mist of water and one tube of windshield set urethane . It is also triggered to polymerize by water. Such windshield urethane sets up as hard as tire rubber. Solid as can be and available at local auto stores for under $20.00. Time is money to me.

    • @carlz948
      @carlz948 Před 3 lety

      Hi John,
      I guess I focused on your idea of using a windshield urethane the first time I read your post and just now noticed you opening question. The injector ports are first applied and, once they have set (about 10 minutes) the rest of the opening is sealed. The foam than gets injected into the lower port, fills the void around the pipe and behind sealed area, and eventually comes out the top port. I continued injecting into the bottom until I could hardly squeeze the caulking gun and then plugged he bottom port.
      Just curious to see if you used the windshield urethane and how it worked.

    Can this “in theory” fix a leaking HDPE potable water line that is what is actually leaking? To reiterate, the leak is actually the portable water line has a pinhole in it and I don’t want to under dig the front patio to remove the pipe and install new pipe. I’m not asking for you to except any liability but would the materials used cause any health issues? If you knew all of the costs involved with replacing the pipe and the lack of egress outside the building you would know why I am desperate enough to ask. Again this is all hypothetical ;-)
