I remember driving to see my daughter at Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego to this song. She was 2 years old; the cardiologist told my ex wife and I she had no more than months…that was 2008, and I grew up listening to you. She is now 17 as of 2024, she still lives, she hasn’t died. It is still so painful, she has had so many surgeries, but she still lives. And I’m so sorry about your friend, but this song has strong meanings that transcend more than your friends. Kudos to you for making a banger and I’m sorry that banger brings up sour memories,
You’re so fortunate if you were able to witness this live. They never play this song live. EVER. Clearly done for Mark in France. Incredible song, incredible man, and incredible band.
Also played in Atlanta, dedicated to Mark, was in shock, I have seen them several times, first time in 2003, and this was the first I have seen it live, has always been a favorite.
Any Mark song they do now makes me cry man. Miss his grizzled voice so much. He was an old gnarled tree given human form. Dark Mark will live forever through our memories. Long live QOTSA ❤
He was in fact a Screaming Tree. He gave Josh his start as second guitar for the Trees. They were pretty much inseparable going forward. They, for a time had a mutual Muse in Anthony Bourdain. RIP Mark, RIP Anthony!
This era of Josh is so wise. RIP Mark. Josh, keep playing for us forever ✌🏻 my fave QOTSA song for feeling like understood in loneliness. Such brilliant songwriting.
He died a couple of days after my Uncle (R.I.P. William N. ), I was still reeling from my Uncle's death. Some people say I sing, like Mark, well, cigarettes and whiskey will do that. Miss both of them f 2022. If you know, you know.
@nerdnglasses my son spent six days in the nicu before we got to bring him home. I know how stressful and heart breaking that is. Glad he is home with you. And what a perfect song choice!!!!
What a class act! I can't wait to see them in Dublin in November for their last show of the tour. No doubt there'll be a tribute to Mark Lanegan as he was of Irish-American decent and sadly passed away in Ireland
Josh says Mark's name several Times and almost no one is giving any response... you can feel a bit of grief when Josh schools the audience "you should know who Mark Lanegan is". Sad moment Im on Josh side on this, I mean it's not like everybody has to know ML but it's not a festival with casual audience, it's a headline show.
Les nuits de Fourvière are a festival, people come here without really knowing bands. Just because it's wellknown fest in France, with a very limited seats (it takes place in an old roman theatre) with some awesome bands playing, it's trending to be there
@@oconnellization oh, I did not realize that was a festival, i assumed it's a headline show. That SORT OF explains the audience but only a little bit... I mean if you're attending a fest where QUOTSA is one of the hosts, I think you should have some idea about the music you paid to listen to. But then again, I don't care. Maybe they're just bunch of soon to be quotsa fans and are just about to discover ML :) The fact is that biggest difference between festivals and headline shows is the audience type, completely different experiences.
One of my most loved and overly played songs from Rated R. Excellent song made hauntingly beautiful by a hauntingly beautiful voice. Mark Lanegan..the 90s Jim Morrison. Rest Easy, mate❤
Can’t tell who’s doing the backing vocals but they sound great: also, my heart got heavy when he kept repeating Mark Lanegan. I’ve got this song tattooed on my thigh- “In the Fade” and Mark Lanegan will always be in my heart and soul ❤️❤️❤️
@@nerdnglassesI thought it was Mikey initially but you can see Troy singing the verse harmony at the the mic, and Mikey is moving around a bit and close mouthed. He joins Troy in the pre-chorus for the “ahhhs” and then Dean joins the rest for the “live till you dude”. Mikey’s voice is definitely the loudest in the mix though since he’s the main backing vocalist

There’s nothing to save, and I know. Mark had terminal cancer so long. So thankful QOTSA had him around. $$$ for him, but keeping straight post heroin. Made it a lot longer than Layne did.
I’ll tell you one thing, Billy Ray Cyrus is either a great Dad or awesome at climbing the charts, either or. Pretty sure he’s proud of what his kid’s have done for themselves, to have Orville Peck ask them.
It isn't, but this is still a fantastic tribute. It only helps remind us just how much we miss Mark. So long as this song still exists and is remembered, Mark's memory never truly dies.
“Mark lanegan” my heart bleeding… so emotional

Everything Mark touched musically was gigantic
He’s done Mark proud every time he’s done this live, what a fitting tribute

Acoustic Played it at MoNA in Tasmania, Australia 2018 😊- I have the video
probably cos this version kinda sucks. cant replace mark.
I actually attended this show and another one where they’d play In the Fade (Cardiff), and this performance felt more emotional.
Saw it both this concert and in paris 2 days ago

I want this song played at my funeral...... loudly
It played loudly in front of the hospital while we brought our son home after two weeks in nicu. Love this song to pieces

This and mexicola are my two favorite qotsa songs
Beautiful. This song has resonated with so many people. Lanegan will live on in people's hearts and sound.
Mark Lanegan 😭
One of my favorite QOTSA tunes. Mark's voice will stand the test of time in my opinion, truly unique.
I just saw them in Wilmington NC and I wanted to hear this so bad..but the show was incredible..one of the best concerts I’ve seen ever.
Love to all💜

Mark 'The Voice' Lanegan ❤ my favourite QOTSA song x I hate that the crowd didn't respond at the beginning 😢
Why no comments on this ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR song? 🤩🥰 OMG 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love this song so much ❤❤❤
My favorite song ever
How i wish I could’ve heard this live 🥲 rip mark

RIP Dark Mark. Was so good to have been along for the ride.😢
Joshua Homme, you have my ❤
Im not crying 😢
❤❤ I absolutely lost it when they played this when I saw them live in Pittsburgh. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Great tribute! This song is so powerful and moving!
Miss Lanegan so much
What a horrible crowd. They do not deserve this tribute 😢. Please preform this in London, I guarantee you the reaction will be crazy.
RIP Mark
Love the riff! such a powerful and moving song
Not able to see this tour this year but thanx for uploading rip mark ❤ to all

Can I love this?

It doesn’t get better.
Dark Fucking Mark.. we miss you
The Godfather of Grunge
Mark Lanegan
Funny thing is his vocals are much more corresponding everywhere Lanegan originally sang
Surely someone in the band can sing somewhat like Mark as a backing vocal? Would sound dope.
Josh Homme is a class act.
