Worked in Germany in '89 - the people were very nice and friendly. I remember walking into a bar with a mate and a group of Germans immediately welcomed us in and bought us a round of drinks - great people.
in the uk i remember german kids coming to stay at peoples houses and then the uk kids went to germany to stay. was nice.
As an Englishman, I love my German brothers and sisters. We are so similar, language, dna and culture. We should have fought together 1914
The Kaiser started it all. If he hadn't we wouldn't have had a war at all.
I have German friends; their elderly mother married a man from Tyneside and she speaks English with a slight Geordie accent. It amazes me though that she can still speak and write fluent English even though she only uses it occasionally (and her English husband mainly spoke German in the home).
Sorrrreeeeyyy, but I have travelled, mainly for the culture, but I can tell you, it was the German and French who always put their beach towels on the sunbeds next to the pool, first thing in the morning
Lol its true they get all the sun loungers 😂😂
Lamb steaks with mint sauce....not beef as a rule!
Visited Berlin and felt welcome by the German people
For many of us we are related ,from 449ad to 1066 Angles Saxons and Jute tribes from what is Germany came here (Anglo Saxons) .Our Royal Family were German . They like Monty Python sketches and do good Bratwurst . I find Germans generally like us we have a similar outlook and Humour.
Anglo-Saxons = English , so it carries on post 1066AD. Germans and Dutchmen are our closest blood relatives
@@Angelcynn_2001 Anglo-Saxons invaded the Britons and the British Isles in the 5th century, when England used to be known as Albion and they renamed it Engla land, land of the Angles = England, what we now call the English today.
The indigenous British were known as the Britons of Britannia.
The ancient Greeks called the people of Britannia the Pretanoí or Bretanoí, collectively Pritani which became Britanni, that was in 325 BCE, long before the invasion of the Angles and Saxons.
@@careytitan9097 and thus, we Englishmen are Germano-Celtic, a blend of Anglo-Saxon, Briton, and Norse blood.
@@Angelcynn_2001 Yes that is what I said.
But we are ALL white Europeans!
@EpicgeezerI agree it was Scotland
I like the Germans a lot.
I like their language 🤣
I've visited Germany loved it, the language, which I've tried to learn and know a bit, the culture, heritage etc, the people are very friendly and helpful. I think there is a mutual respect between the English and German people.
It’s the basis of English - you know that.
The English and Germans are like twin brothers
@@spruce381 yes I do.
I lived in Germany. Don't misunderstand me, there is quite a lot of German cuisine I like, however, in terms of food, traditional and international, available in the supermarket or restaurants, the UK does do somewhat better.
However, German biscuits, or Spritzgebäck are very, very delicious. Shout out for Weisswurst mit senf.
Great video Shady I’ve always found the Germans mix well and always enjoyed my holidays in Germany.
We lie in the sun whenever we get the chance because we're so sun deprived here 😂
lamb goes with mint, not steak :l
I'm" English"! But my dna test shows I'm related to the same number of Germans as I am British.
I traced my surname once, to find out it was mentioned in the dooms day book, and i was jumping with joy that my ancestry could be traced that far back,(still am) then i found out he was 1 of 100 knight templars who came over with william in 1066, i could never find out who the female was who started the English line with him, since then ive always had icky feeling about being decended from the templar knight, and have prayed a few times that she was willing and not a captive.
Think id rather have your DNA
@@bliss9654 you're norman, you don't need to pray, we all know she wasn't willing
@@Angelcynn_2001 damn nearly a thousand yrs and im still classed as an imigrant 🙄
Her female relative left her bloodline to join the enmy
She's not one of us. She better call herself norman. Don't you ever think you are English.
People dont realize we English are from the Anglo and the saxons german in other words they are the farther land we are called the motherland, why do you think hit...ler didnt want to invade britain in ww2
Anglo-Saxons invaded the Britons and the British Isles in the 5th century, when England used to be known as Albion and they renamed it Engla land, land of the Angles = England, what we now call the English today.
The indigenous British were known as the Britons of Britannia.
The ancient Greeks called the people of Britannia the Pretanoí or Bretanoí, collectively Pritani which became Britanni, that was in 325 BCE, long before the invasion of the Angles and Saxons.
Today many British have about 35%-45% mix of German, French and Scandanavian DNA, but still retain 55% - 65% ancient Britannic DNA as a whole.
@@careytitan9097 i know that albion was along time before the anglos and the saxons and it was called england after the viking of the name eng took it from the people learn real history mate we are called england because of him
@@ArthurGibb-ps4dy The Angles played a significant role in naming England. The name “England” is derived from the Old English term “Engla land,” which was first applied to the territory of the Anglo-Saxons after their invasion from northern Germany and southern Denmark around 450 AD. The Angles were one of the main Germanic tribes that settled in Great Britain during the post-Roman period. Their name, which comes from the Angeln peninsula, is the root of the word “England” itself. So, in a way, you could say that the Angles named England! 🏴
ofcourse we are similar we are all germanic people lol
haha not me i can trace my ancestors back to Celtic times my people have always been here
Yes, Germanic heritage, but we Englishmen are Germano-Celtic, genetically. That's why we are still here 1,600 years later*
Shady Shae , my favourite coconut 😂 👊
🤣❤️
KokoNut! 🥥
👊🏾
My Nan is German, so we should be down bruv’s
My Dad was obsessed with anything German. He had a lot of respect for them. He even supported the German football team rather than England 😄
3:46 That was a German trying to be sarcastic. Bless him 😅
Great vidio shady baby love what the german people think really nice one love shady 😊🎉❤❤❤😊
I’m English but I love Germany and their work ethic. I always buy Miele Products and they are quality
Shady, our daughter lived in hannover in Germany for some year we used to love to goto and visit her ,had such wonderful times the best beer vestivefuls ,are in hannover.
Oh wow!
Most Gremans i know have the same dry sense of humour as us Brits
Im in my late 30's and I realized at around 19 through the line of work I was in that the Germans are mostly not to different from the British, just like us they loved a drink and a good party. Always want to beat them in the football though 🤣
I’m British my mother came over here after the war , my ex was in the army and I lived altogether 9 yrs in Germany I loved it and yes the bakery’s are much better and the sausages , the imbis vans
Haha, The Germans brew some of the best beer in the World so I appreciate the compliment as a Brit. I kind of see where he's coming from though, the German beer purity law does mean they have some of the best in the World, but it also can mean that it's difficult to create a wide variety of different beers, which is probably what he's thinking off when he says that. The craft ale/lager boom in the UK has meant there's a lot of weird but also great beers being brewed.
For the sun, we only get 2 weeks of solid sun in the summer, so when we go abroad we make the most of it and get our years supply of vitamin D while we're away haha
I very much like their German accent when they are speaking English
Me weird ? OK, it's a fair cop. 😅 🇬🇧 🇩🇪
British people, German people, Russian people, all people anywhere just want all the same things. We just want to live our best lives. It's the politics that fuck the whole thing up. Politicians need to create enemies to keep us reliant on them. The quicker the people unite and realise that we don't need them, the quicker the world will become a better place for us all.
Great interaction shady....
The funniest thing is the guy with the Mike looks the most German.
Haha rightly so
Went to Germany, but it was called West Germany when l went, but l have been told its not the same since they knocked the Berlin Wall down its gone down in some people say
I love our bakeries here in the UK, but I will admit German ones are better
She's Nigerian, right?
I've met a few from there. Seems like a rough place and the people I've met have an amazing attitude.
My daughter has a friend whose mother is German and the mother has no sense of humour! Even the daughter says the same. Henning Wehn had to come to the UK to get a career in humour - the German mother didn't find him funny either 🤣
Great video 👍✝️🙏🌏💙
Thank you kindly
English towns were twined with Germany towns until we came out of the EU..
They still do twinning. And dignatories come to our town from France, Germany, Finland and New Zealand............. nothing to do with brexit.........ffs 🙄
