@@blankpage555 The Group C prototypes that you see in this video look more like hypercars than the hypercar class that we have now.
If Hypercars don't have GT particularities at least when it comes to aerodynamics than they're not hypercars. The Group C cars have GT particularities and some of them even have road legal versions.
The LMH are plain prototypes. And that's because they favor speed over aesthetics and the skill that it takes to drive an actual hypercar at this speed.

Crazy large field, can't believe they got so many owners of these priceless machines to risk their museum pieces in a proper race. These drivers are extremely brave to go so fast with such old equipment, these cars were made as light as possible and for a single season, racing them 30 years later takes a lot of confidence in your mechanics. So many things can go wrong at 300 kph.
Lastly: The Peugeot 905 is my favourite, gorgeous clean lines and that gigantic rear wing hanging off the back is so cool. I wish I was around when it was launched, it must've looked even more insane and futuristic back then.

@Kieren Standen It was built by Sauber (race car constructor and privateer racing team) and designed and engineered by Mercedes-Benz (automotive manufacturer). Its engine (the M119 V8) is also found in high end versions of the Mercedes cars from the late 80s and 90s (E-Class W124, S-Class W140 and SL R129) (but with various displacements, ranging from 4.2 to 6.0L, depending on a version). The C9 was built and raced in WSPC (World Sports Prototype Championship), WSC (World Sportscar Championship) and 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1987 to '89, by three racing teams - Kouros Racing ('87), AEG Olympia ('88) and Sauber Mercedes ('89). The C11 (its successor) was built in 1990 and raced by Sauber Mercedes until the following year in the WSC and 24 Hours of Le Mans. Both cars have the same but improved, already mentioned engine. The C11 was at the 2018 Le Mans Classic, but it broke down during qualifying session.

Forget it. If they were going to do anything, I’d rather they reinstated the old Dunlop curve. That front straight with the run down to the esses was much more interesting than a 5.8 kilometre straight. The Mulsanne chicanes make the racing a lot more interesting.

@@OggaDugga You said you wanted it “in period”. If you are going to insist on authenticity, then it takes more than a 5.8 km straight. Yeah, I get it: it’s easier to do. But the Dunlop curve and the run down to the esses was just as much a part of 1980s Le Mans. I have little interest in the straight and prefer it with chicanes because it makes the racing better. They still get to 330-340 km/h even now. But yes, if you want it authentic then you have to do both.
