  • On our latest Sunday Night Show, we discuss two different perspectives (from other CZcams Channels) on whether or not to RV to Quartzsite Arizona. Two completely different videos on whether to RV to Quartzsite or to keep driving by. This video in no way makes an argument not to subscribe or unsubscribe to a YT Channel. But to explain there are always 2 sides of the story. The full time RV Lifestyle is to experience "the lifestyle" of others and to explore life in general.

    Quartzite is one of the best places to spend the winter. The weather is perfect and it is a great nomad community. There is a Walmart 45 minutes away in Parker and an Albertsons in Blythe to stock up on supplies at a reasonable price.

      Absolutely!!! Hec, the Ace Hardware in Blythe is huge. Only 30 mins away.

    It’s about a 100 miles north of Yuma.

    Great information, I been to quartzite for the last 3 years. Love meeting people and seeing other rigs. Taking this year off. I just left AZ from a two week trip from CA to grand Canyon, Winslow, camp verde and Phoenix raceway, then back home to northern California.

      We’re in Camp Verde now. Another nice place to spend time in. Especially in the late Fall.

    I live not far from Quartzite in California.
    I've been going since the 80s, I'm in my late 50's now.
    The gas is less there then here. The food is not terrible expensive, the City of Blythe is 15 min away with reg grocery stores if you need it. Most people have come in their RVs and bring groceries. Lots of people eat out. You can stay on BLM land that charges $40 for your entire stay and has trash pick up, dumping and water is provided. Or they come around with a honeywagon to dump you for a charge.
    Some people come for a month or 2 to see all their friends that come from all over the country, snow birds.
    It's not the same the last few years. It use to be a very unique place. It was like a crazy fun dream with the most interesting people and booths.
    One time I was at McDonald's and a square dance broke out inside. You use to be able to grab a table and sell anything you wanted on the side of the road. Lots of cheap stuff for many years. Not now, they raised the vendor booth fee very high, so few real deals anymore and a lot of the good vendors left ( some told me they skip Quartzite and go to Tucson ). Its more like a giant version of the swap meets we have at home, similar items and prices. There's lots of rocks and jewelry but you'll pay more for them now.
    So for me it use to be for the Shopping, the No rules, Fun and Unique Characters ( like naked Paul , Book Store Guy) Circus like atmosphere, and most of all Friends.
    Now I just go because of friends, we all camp together for 2 wks ( like one big slumber party) and not as much focus on the shopping anymore. The people running this thing now have kind of squeezed the joy out of it and kind of killed it for me.

    It makes me so angry that people come out here and leave a mess! It’s not hard to clean up after yourself! And Blythe is only 20 miles away to go to Albertsons. Parker is 35 miles away and has a Walmart and a Safeway. There is really no problem out here if you are not fussy and lazy.

    Way to tell it like it is! This video tells me what I can really expect when someday I get the chance to camp at Quartzsite, AZ. I can’t wait to experiencing the unique and vibrant vibe in this camping community.

    Thank you Scott, I'm pretty sure I watched the same videos you are referring to. This January will be my first attempt at nomadding & kind of freaked out after watching the one video in reference being a newbie. Thank you for sharing your great Midwestern experiences & personality. As always, another great video.

    We love our snowbirds.. but the other people it really sucks. In the winter anywhere your go you going to get ask for money. Every corner are panhandlers. I never lock anything in the summer but I'm the winter I lock everything I own.

    I totally agree ...I went there when I was full timing it and had a very good time probably caus I love flea markets and more importantly I am a rockhound from way back so this place is a mecca of sorts to me... but I would repeat ...don't let a video spoil it for you ... go and make up your own mind for Pete's sake ..!

    Quite frankly I wish I had seen their video before I arrived because I would have headed to Florida.
    The worst that I see is the amount if litter on the roadsides. And the wind DID NOT blow it all in.
    Marking the days off my calender like I'm doing time.

    • @ThisNomadicIdea
      @ThisNomadicIdea  Před 2 lety +1

      You can still go to Florida. Liter is everywhere these days. I should post a picture of how a town with only 72 people living there, and the main corridor of Yellowstone turns into tourist throwing trash everywhere. Including RVers.

    • @francesblack9187
      @francesblack9187 Před 2 lety +1

      @@ThisNomadicIdea And that's who's throwing the trash. The RVers. I've been here for quite some time and it's getting worse by the day. Really a shame. For the record..Ive met some amazing people since I've been here, mostly locals, and they don't care for the gang either. The place is absolutely beautiful, but some of the people try ruin it for those of us who care.

      I would compare my ramblings with yours, but you don’t have any video content. Therefore you get put into the Troll category. But thanks for the comment helps promote my ramblings.

    your facts straight before you make your video's. Quartzsite has a population of 3700 off season, with an average age of 71. There are 2 full time grocery stores, and a pharmacy. Quartzsite is 80 miles from Yuma, a 1.5 hr drive. Blythe, Ca is 20 miles away and has everything you might need.
    So, give Quartzsite some credit for being more than your description.

    • @ThisNomadicIdea

      You didn’t watch the video. I do in fact give Quartzsite credit. You missed the whole context of the video.
