FYI: the shock bolts/nut should be torqued to 47ft-lbs on 2004 and earlier
2005 and later, it's 33ft-lbs on the upper bolt and 58ft-lbs on the lower bolt. And it's recommended to replace the fasteners on 2005 and newer models
Good video. I use a 2004 Odyssey to haul a heavy power wheelchair and blew out a shock. This video helped me change out the original Honda shocks fast and easy. By the way, I replaced them with the Monroe 58645 Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Rear Shock Absorbers from Rock Auto based on your recommendation. So far so good. Tighter handling, much less body roll and no squeaks. Glad to have them. Well worth the $100 investment.
Great video Bundy. I have an 04 Odyssey that I need to do the rear shocks and I didn't realize it was as simple as this. Now I feel confident doing it myself. Thank you!
Same here
Great video 👍
I used the monroes with the extra spring..rides like a dream especially if you fill it like we do on our trips to the beach...much safer ride when loaded up now.
+Scott Sluggos Rule! That's the ones I should of gotten! Kicking myself for not!
I've read the reviews on Amazon for those. Some say their kinda noisy
Gotta link? Thks for the tip.
Hi I replaced the shocks on my 2003 odyssey around summer of 2015. I used KYB bought from tire rack so far they've been pretty good
+kevin tillack I should have bought KYB's
BundysGarage hi just a little update. The kyb is somewhat noisy when going over speed bumps in parking lot
BundysGarage I saw the Monroe heavy duty ones with the springs built in on rockauto. However the reviews on Amazon for them are kinda hit or miss. I'm thinking I should have gone oem
What are ppl saying about them on Amazon?
Great video and explanation with tips.
2001 Oddy 195k miles demanding this job since 175k.
Why did u pick those shocks?
Why not originals?
Thanks for sharing.
Are you using a torque wrench to tighten the bolts that you put back into the new shocks?
Hello Bundy, what shocks do your recommend since the Monroe shocks are to soft?
what do you recommend for the front struts?
Sweeeet video
Where’s the video on the Monroe 58645
