Looks good, man! I use a similar setup for streaming my rides in Amsterdam to Twitch (notjustbikes) and CZcams (NJB Live), but I recently switched to a Belabox (on NVidia Jetson) because I like working with open source software. I've also stopped connecting the camera directly to the bike and I have the same mount on a backpack as you, but with a Sony X3000, as GoPros have been buggy for me. The biggest issue now is Micro HDMI cables. The more expensive ones last longer, but they all die eventually. I've just given up on finding the perfect one, and I ride with extras.
Alternatively to hotspotting, there are phone apps that allow you to VPN from your phone, tricking it into thinking you're using regular data...thus...no data cap!
In a perfect scenario not moving through the city between different cell towers sure, but providing the kit with a minimum of two different cell services will give you signal strength and cell tower overlap. I’ve found this is extremely important while riding through a city.
Yes!! This is the info I needed to get it all tied together. My wife has been wanting to try bike streaming from the female perspective for ages. Thanks TerryB. 🙌
👍 I totally appreciate this kind of information man! I've been wanting to get into streaming some of my rides but don't know where to start in building my kit, your video helps a lot!

Something I've always wondered is how you ensure the camera is always pointing in a good direction. I've had so many videos ruined because the gopro wasn't quite pointed the way I wanted without realizing it, or even that it shifted around over the course of the ride. Sometimes it can be fixed after-the-fact, but that's obviously not something you can do with streaming.
Nice setup and thanks for sharing.....what's the purpose of the cutout on the back of the bag you've chosen? Is there a similar bag that can go over each shoulder for us with cervical and trap injuries/issues? This would allow someone like me to switch to the opposite shoulder when fatigue sets in....thanks so much!
Quite an expense to have multiple carriers and the wireless image-capture device. A personal hotspot over your phone to your action cam should suffice for some who want to get started. Batteries can be a pain in GoPros, but having the charging cables, spare batteries and battery charger with access to a place to charge can alleviate things until you can get more gear.
Yo Terry, thanks for the video. Always wondered how you do it. Might sound like a silly question, but at the end when you put your backpack on, is your GoPro upside down? I'm assuming it knows this and just flips the video the right way round yeah?
@@TerryB wow that makes so much sense. I recorded a couple vids with a chest strap and gopro and couldn’t figure out why the angle was so low even with the camera super high up on my chest.
Thanks for this! Cars have been a bit psychotic since Rona, so I've mainly been walking. In regards to GoPro, are the 7, 8, or 9 decent enough to get started? I definitely can't afford the newest 10.
Try setting it upside down like Terry has it. On the GoPro site, you see the camera mounted on the chesty right side up, but that doesn’t give a good angle as when you ride you are slightly angled forward and tend ti film downwards a bit more. Flip it upside down and angle it forward a little bit, that should help

Amazing, thanks for sharing!!!
Yo we need a Hotline episode with NJB!

Love it, sadly London is crap with connection so even two modems would not work until 5g is properly widely installed

Thanks Terry! Love how informative and straight-forward your video is!

That YC Onion cage looks really well designed, I've never seen them before. 👍
Awesome video Terry! Been thinking about live streaming my doordash shifts in SF 🔥
That would be cool
Saved in favorites for future reference.
This is so cool, appreciate the information people like you provide. All I need now is a good bike 😅
Awesome vid. thank you for sharing 🤘 🇨🇦
nice solution. I'm still waiting for Jetson Nano's to come back in stock one day so I can create a Bela for my bike.
Thanks!! This is amazing info!
hell yea terry thanks for the advice ‼️

knowing the position gets easier the more you stream. it starts to become second nature.
Sepeda malam ..saya suka itu
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this. I just might give this a whirl at some point.

Cutout is probably for the airflow to avoid overheating
This is dope dude.

It depends on how you have it set. When filming from the chest I always get best results from the camera upside down. You get a better angle.

looks good man
this was quality
How much does all the equipment cost?

They're on the 11 now, but yes the 9 is a good!
Nice one 👍
Thanks ✌️
Which frame bag are you using? Looks like Outer Shell?
Yes outershell
why u cut the bag??
Need to add a mesh insert. Originally cut for airflow.
What light are you using?
Peace thru superior streaming!
what happend with the jetson setup?
Still working on perfecting it
Every time I use the chest mount with my GoPro, the angle sucks so bad😢
You got keep try till you figure it out

Unlimited data, but the internet speed is capped🥲🥲🥲
