Happy you could fix it and the seller did not put it into bin.
Also thumb up for using the plastic tool! Many people just do not care and use anything they got to get the iPod opened :-(
Just wondering what kind of cable are you using to connect your iPod with MBP:
I guess its MBP 2012 with firewire 800? So usually you would need an 400->800 FW adapter to make it work.
On your video, the cable seems to be one unit.
