The thing i think a lot of people don't understand is how *hard* it is to even get on a game show. the audition process is long and difficult, it's not like squid games where they pick up rando poor people off the street. taking months off of work or traveling across the country to film isn't an option for people working 2-3 jobs at a time
This is definitely one of those shows you’d see as a kid, then years later tell your friends about and they’d look at you with concern and worry about your sanity.

That’s what I was thinking. They kept asking her over and over how she is and if she wants to keep going, then they “check with doctors” all while torturing still. You could tell she just wanted to finish without being held up by the show. The least they could do was pause the spraying but then again, the 2000’s were a whole different time

Fun fact: I remember this show because during one of the three nights it aired, I was in an urgent care waiting room as a little kid with bronchitis, and this was on the tv in the background. Between painful coughs I got to watch human beings be tortured on national television.

The cold chick was the witness who drove off and refused to testify. And I'm not positive, but I think the other guy was the lawyer who got the guy off or something. Jeff was actually the innocent one. I don't remember him doing anything wrong; even his wife was cheating on him.

When Cody referred to 150° as ”sauna heat”, at first I was like whoah, even in Finland we don’t subject ourselves to heat like that 😳 Then I remembered that it’s Fahrenheit. (150°F/65°C is considered pretty much the minimum here, although I guess it doesn’t help having your clothes on and being tied to a chair upside down.)

Yup, you have to take so many more aspects into consideration when you compare anything that hot to sauna. When you are semi unwillingly held in that heat for a ransom it isn't exactly the same as intentionally bathing in a steam heated room while alternating with swimming in a +15 c lake or taking cold showers.

Saunas are wild. I've sat in one at 100C. You can't sit too long at that temp - and it's kinda mind-blowing, but air is a good enough insulator that you can bear it for 10 mins at a time.
