For those who are wondering the reason the white cobra jet waited so long is because it was a bracket race. Meaning that they handicapped it for being so fast.

Max Duvall People sit here and judge mustangs on the Drag Strip, but Mustangs are not Drag cars. They turn on a dime and are built for racing on track. That’s why the new GT500 is trying to be able to drag as well
@@josephwalsh5223 I agree and disagree with you at the same time. The original mustang was used as a drag car 100% up until about the 90s (Ish). Recently, to compete with the comaro they've been adjusting it to fit a racing build (like differential rear suspension) so yes the new mustangs 100% are race cars but usually when you see those videos of people driving mustangs hitting crowds of people its because they don't realize that it has such high HP at low RPMs because it was meant for drag not for drifting around a corner and hitting people.
Max Duvall Well, look at the Torq charts, the Mustangs rev high to put out the most speed at once, Cameros put out low end torque for quick takeoff. Mustangs have a lot of power yes, at high rev speeds. That’s why they are built for racing, not the Drag Strip
@@josephwalsh5223 hmmm. idk maybe the charts say otherwise but my dad has both mustang and camaro and im pretty sure the mustang puts out far more low end torque. I hate driving the camaro for that exact reason though, I feel like I have to floor it when I release the clutch otherwise I stall which is always embarrassing especially if you've been driving manual for 3-4 years.

Old school guys. You have to give merit to new school, because these cars are doing everything you can do, with heat, air a full interior, and some straight off the show room floor with a car warranty for in case something breaks.

Running with brand spanking new autos. That's like my grandpa running track with current Olympic athletes, and not only hanging with them. But beating them.

@Lost Ones soul most cars from the '60s weigh more then 3000lbs man, not by much but they are generally in the 3250-3800lbs range with the Charger, just like today, being one of the most hefty, I believe it weighed in at over 3700lbs, Mustang/Camaro were 3200lbs and up as the motors got bigger with better factory options.
Corvette was the lightest weighing just around 3000+lbs in the lightest C1/C3/C4 generations.
But yeah agreed, new versions are overgrown, over the last 20 years the weight rose up, my 2002 Camaro SS has no rear seats, muffler/cats delete but a bigger heavier 3" pipe instead, still weighs in at only 3338lbs.
Another layer of duck tape will fix it

I guess u may be right. I looked up a similar car to that one it said cobra jet mustang, so if that is the exact same car then then I believe it's a mustang. I also looked up cobra edition on ford.com and they called it a mustang shelby cobra,
But the cobra edition mustang's with the cobra emblems on them only say cobra on them and that's why me and others who call them cobras is why we call them that bcuz they don't have a mustang emblem on them or have the mustang model game on them. They say cobra
@@michaelbrown6960 it was a 2017 (or 16 whatever) ford mustang. A shelby cobra is manufactured by shelby under the ford recipe with some addons.
The reason why it could give him a head start and still run his ass down is because that was no ordinary Cobra. that was a Cobra Jet. a cobra and a Cobra Jet are two totally different animals! Cobra Jets come from the factory killing Demons and everything else.

That was an 8 not 6, so it was an 8.74 @154 mph. One side of the 8 is partially cutoff by the lamp post. It was the fastest of all of them, but that old school medium blue Mustang ran an 8.86 @152 mph.

@Jordan Brendmoen"Style" and "integrity" aren't gonna get you a fast time on the track. A good horsepower to weight ratio, and some aerodynamic efficiency will. Car companies such as Dodge went to these types of body styles you speak of for good reason.

What many people fail to realize is that most of these old muscle cars are repurposed as drag strip cars and are tuned to the nines, while most of the new ones are (mostly) stock.
Of course, I don't wanna take away from any of the amazingness that is, old american muscle, but it is worth noting^^

Most of those old muscle cars are not even built up that much and the new muscle has turbos and superchargers and all that crap.. you've got it exactly backwards... 500 to 700 horsepower Mustangs Challengers and Camaros in the New Age category.... but when the new muscle came up against the Ford Fairlane and the Ford Mustang both old school they got that ass waxed.
I'll take a good old school engine and build it a little bit and put a good turbocharger on it and I'll wax that New Age muscle all day!
While most of the new ones will be a toaster and the oldies will still be around.

New school needs superchargers, turbos, and 8 to 10 speed transmissions to be fast. Old school had cubic inches, with 3 to 4 speeds to fly.
But the old cars could only hit the high of 150 or 160 mph, new cars can go over 200 mph or more, most of these old cars are only crossing the finish line because they are really modified and supercharged like that blue 65 mustang beating the hellcat, straight up supercharged
All of these New Age muscle cars are super charged, turbo’s,Pro charged that’s the only reason they will run so what are you saying? You take an old-school engine and set it up the same as the new school and the old school will beat it the majority of the time because it makes more power and torque

These new school muscle cars are awesome, can't deny it, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING will compare to the sound of the howling roar of an old school V8 in an old school Charger, Challenger, Mustang, GTO or Impala at full revs.
Old and new are both badass. Old is much less weight though.

You are clueless. My 10sec all motor 68 Mustang street car weighs 3050lbs. No new muscle car comes near that. 65-66 mustangs weigh even less. Like 2800lbs
