Like I really wanted the real story of Snow Queen. I only decided to watch it because Idina played Elsa. I've grown to like Frozen. Idina Menzel is such a talented singer and actress and she played the Snow Queen Elsa from Frozen, Queen Nancy Tremaine from Enchanted and Disenchanted, and played Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West from the musical “Wicked”. Idina Menzel truly is the “Queen of Broadway”.
I just want to appreciate how much Idina had to professionally hold back here! She's a stage actress at heart, trained to make big moves and have big energy to reach fhe back of the house. Add on top of that she is a child of the 80s and probably bounced off fhe walls singing this song in her bedroom.
Great cover but bad choreography & cinematography. And what was up with the farmhand doing a random backflip for literally no reason. Either get him in the dance with the step family rejecting him through dance or don't bother having him at all. Lazy staging.
the choreography near the end of the song is simple but fun! and idk the random pointless backflip is kinda the directors style. she did stuff like that with the pitch perfect movies too.
The whole movie has undertones of the old-fashioned view that males are more powerful etc, so I believe him doing random backflips was a way of showing that even though it is Idina's big moment, a man was still trying to do something to upstage, yet ultimately failing at the hand of such a strong female character.

Why do many people complain about the movie? For me it was marvelous... Maybe thinking about it a little too much would erase the movie magic and that's why sometimes adults are boring... We think about a lot of things a little too much.
