Sen. John Fetterman opens up about depression treatment, views on war in Gaza

- Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania joins CBS Mornings just over one year after seeking treatment for depression at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Fetterman, who suffered a stroke in May 2022, used a closed captioning device and a stenographer as he addressed the Israel-Hamas war and the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

You’re a grown a$$ man, dress like it. It’s not like 2024 ‘business casual’ is that hard to pull off. Here’s a tip. People will actually be more inclined to take what you have to say seriously if you did. That’s just the way the world works and you aren’t going to change that.
I love that it bothers people how he dresses. At least he isn’t groping people in theaters or committing crimes or stripping away rights from women. Worry about something that matters.
@@jackn8458a dress code is part of every job. It has nothing to do with the crimes you mentioned. But...if he can get away with it then good for him. There are so many reasons to hate so many politicians that what he is wearing means nothing to me. The fact he can't communicate without significant accomodations is concerning.

@@jackn8458 Stephen Hawkins wasn't a politician. He was a theoretical physicist. A senator's main job requirement is communication. A theoretical physicist main job is to think. That being said... I never heard Hawkins speak like a lost 12 year old even when all he had was a single cheek muscle to talk with. A stroke victim has a much different set of obstacles than someone with a motor neuron disease. But the point you raise is valid and is something to keep mind. And to the original point...his choice of attire is the least concerning aspect.
I want to apologize to Senator Fetterman. I wasn't familiar with his game.
I admire for him talking about depression and for him speaking about that, but I question his wife being a former “Dreamer” child. I don’t think that illegal immigration is fair. If her parents weren’t granted asylum, I don’t think that’s fair?
I love this man as a person who is no longer afraid to talk about the things that trouble everyday Americans. We're all dealing with the same problems brought upon us by the rich/reight wing of American politics, money for me, scraps for thee. $412k/yr to buy a house in America, and we wonder why there's a homelessness problem? $20/h to work for McDonalds?? Sure if you like $20 Big-Mac meals... inflation means nothing to the rich, it's all made-up paper-money anyway, some numbers on a page they can't even stand to look at let alone understand!

So proud of this guy! I Fetterman and Biden are good, decent, very balanced Democrats.
Realize how even with all of the "noise" from the loud minority in our party, they stick to their beliefs especially regarding Israel.
They understand who is right and History will prove them to be on the just side.
