@thisguy3238 holy crap. U just bought a hhr too. I got a decent price on mine to I have already went 4500 miles in 2 months from fla to md then md to fla....n the cars trunk stopped opening 3 weeks ago .
@@Caretakerh It's a 2010, the miles are outrageous lol 190k, but I only paid 2k for it so we'll see what happens. Mine was actually originally from Florida, and made its way here to Michigan. Paint is sun damaged, but the frame seems sturdy, not much rust
Hey James! Great video! Just bought my son a 2008 HHR for his first car. Couple of things need to be fixed and this is one of them. Before we get started, just wondered if it would be better to take off the entire chrome Chevy emblem since it seems like the loom is too big to fit through the opening. It looks like the plastic piece that holds the latch in place is broken. Let me know what you think and thanks again!
David Tomky my switch was only held on by one screw the other had rusted off. If you look straight up under the chrome lip there should be two screws holding the switch in. If you remove them the switch should drop down with enough cable to be able to unplug it.
Hello I just bought a 2008 Chevy HHR and I'm having the issues with the trunk hatch not opening,,,and my speakers in the doors...the only 2 speakers Chevy put in the darn car r 2 on the dash n 1 speaker on the front doors...it's a good car I really enjoy it.. n I have put 4500 miles on it already ..I've driven from fl to md in Sept n then drove it again up n back again in oct...I travel with my little dog. How's your HHR doing
Did you need to remove the whole back panel to get the switch out? I unscrewed the two screws but can’t get the switch out far enough to get to the connection.
Thanks for a very informative video. I think our hhr may have the same issue.
May I ask dis you find ur problem
Saaaame just bought the damn thing too lol. Cheap though!

@@kinura26 Ok thanks!
Excellent
Any two prong push button will work in a pinch even a door bell or just cross the connectors for a secound
More poor design by Chevy. I just replaced mine. Speakers did not last 8 years either.

My Hatch switch was Riveted in. was your screws????
Thank you!! Hehhe i am a girl and love cars. I wondered if you could take it apart.
Hey when the switch was bad would the interior lights stay on?
hello, mine didn't seem to stay on. my switch seemed to fail open if the switch failed by shorting that might be a symptom.
What kind of screws hold the touch pad in place i want to take mine out to replace
Derek carriere they are a star drive holding the whole switch to the hatch i think the touchpad has 6 Philipps screws holding it together
@@kinura26 thank you very much
Audio too low.
I know made with my old phone it had issues
Speak louder
Used my old phone at the time had issues with the mic.
@@kinura26 or you could hold the phone closer to your mouth, because the sounds of your tools rustling around come across loud and clear.
